Today, the Hydra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu family remembers and honors the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the innocent lives taken too soon, the first responders who ran toward danger, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the courage and unity shown by our nation in the days that followed.

May we always remember the sacrifices made and continue to carry forward the values of strength, courage, service, and unity.

From kids heading back to school and returning to the mats, to students training hard for upcoming competitions, some students leveled up, and we started a few new programs — August has been full of growth, hard work, and new beginnings!

👏 Congratulations to everyone who earned stripes this month. Your consistency and dedication continue to show! And a big Hydra welcome to Eleanor and Ethan! We’re excited to have you on the mats and part of our Hydra family.

We’re grateful for every student, parent, coach, and professor who continues to bring positive energy to our academy.

We are expanding our schedule, introducing new programs, and welcoming both new and returning students to the mats!

🧘‍♀️ Yoga at Hydra
Beginning August 11, Jeanetta Bodie of Soma Moon Wellness will lead yoga classes every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00–9:00 AM. All experience levels are welcome!

💙 Ageless Jiu-Jitsu for Adults 50+
Our new low-impact Jiu-Jitsu and self-defense program begins August 6. at 10:15am to 11:00am. Improve balance, mobility, strength, confidence, and practical
self-defense skills in a safe and supportive environment. Move at your own pace.

📚 Back-to-School Sign-Up Special

At Hydra, we believe that training is about more than technique—it's about caring for your entire body and mind.

We're thrilled to welcome Jeanetta Bodie of Soma Moon Wellness to the Hydra family! Beginning August 11, Jeanetta will be leading yoga classes every Tuesday & Thursday from 8:00–9:00 AM right here at Hydra.

Whether you're a Jiu-Jitsu student looking to improve mobility and recovery, or someone simply looking for a welcoming place to move, breathe, and reconnect, these classes are for you.

We are excited to introduce a new 50+ Jiu-Jitsu & Self-Defense Program at Hydra Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!

This low-impact class is designed for adults 50+ who want to stay active, improve balance & mobility, build confidence, and learn practical self-defense in a safe and supportive environment.

Class will focus on:

✅ Increase balance & mobility
✅ Strength & flexibility
✅ Standing & ground self-defense
✅ Getting up and down safely
✅ Light Jiu-Jitsu movements
✅ Confidence & community
No experience needed. No pressure. Just steady progress, safe training, and a welcoming community.

📅 Tuesdays & Thursdays
⏰ 10:15–11:00 AM
🎉 First Class is FREE!

Regular Monthly Program: $95/month
Drop-In: $20
