Flashback Friday 📸

Did you know that Grey Wolf Lodge hasn't always gone by the same name? Back in 1996, owners Rob & Joanne officially renamed Lakeside Farm Resort to what we all know today as Grey Wolf Lodge!

We even have an original sign hanging from the barn as a nod to our history here at the resort.

Fall has arrived at Pelican Lake! The leaves are beginning to show their colors, the days are getting shorter, and fall fishing is officially in full swing. 🍂

The Bass and Northern Pike action has been incredible lately. Just check out these two huge Largemouth Bass and this impressive 30-inch Northern Pike that our first-time guests, Steve & Deb, reeled in on their very first trip to Pelican Lake! 🎣

We couldn’t be happier for them and what a way to welcomed to the lake! Wishing all our guests a fantastic week on the water.

Wishing everybody a happy Labor Day weekend!

Whether you have big plans on the lake with family and friends, or you are taking the weekend to relax before the kids go back to school we fully hope you are enjoying your weekend.

We are excited for our last few weeks of the season with some good fall fishing up here, but we are already missing the summer days. From the Grey Wolf Lodge team, thank you for an incredible summer!

Flashback Friday 📸

We want to start doing Flashback Fridays on here more regularly as we are learning so much about the rich history of Grey Wolf Lodge! We find it so intriguing, and we hope you do too.

Did you know that our iconic barn hasn't always sat where it does today? The original 1939 Takala Barn used to sit on top of the hill near the entrance to our resort. In 1999, the owners moved the barn to its current location and began renovating it throughout the early 2000s.

As the years have gone by, the barn has received various updates and special touches! Currently, it is home to our main office, The Lower Den (a two-bedroom apartment on the bottom), and The Wolf Den (a three-bedroom, multi-level apartment on top).

IT STARTS TODAY! 🐟🏆 The Pelican Lake Fall Bass Tournament kicks off today, and anglers have the entire month of September to chase a big one! Compete for up to $1,000 in cash for the biggest bass, plus cash prizes for the two biggest bass and five randomly selected $100 winners for any bass measuring over 16 inches. Same great prizes. With September rapidly approaching, we are getting excited about the annual catch and release Fall Bass Tournament on Pelican Lake! 🎣

We are looking forward to hosting anglers here at Grey Wolf Lodge for a month of friendly competition, crisp fall weather and some amazing catches out on the lake.

Prizes up to $1000 will be rewarded for the two biggest catches! Five more anglers who catch bass over 14 inches will also be in the running to receive $100 selected at random. Any guest staying with us for three or more nights in September will be eligible to enter and win prizes!

It is hard to believe how quickly the summer is flying by! We are still soaking up these beautiful sunsets over the lake as the days are slowly getting shorter and we head into the later part of the summer season. Hard to imagine it was just a few months back as we were opening this place up. Time flies as the season passes and we hope that all of our guests have had a fantastic summer!

Here's to a few more weeks of warmer days and enjoying the lake, fishing and everything Northern Minnesota has to offer during these summer months.

Yesterday, smoke drifted across Pelican Lake from the wildfires burning in northern Minnesota, reminding us just how devastating these fires have been for so many communities.

We have been incredibly fortunate that Grey Wolf Lodge has not been directly affected, and we are grateful to remain open and able to welcome guests. Our hearts are with our friends, fellow resort owners, businesses, and the entire community in Ely and the surrounding areas who are facing these challenging conditions.

We are deeply thankful to the firefighters, emergency responders, and support crews who have been working tirelessly around the clock to protect lives, homes, businesses, and our beautiful forests. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.

Happy 4th of July from us at here Grey Wolf Lodge! 🇺🇸

There is no better place to spend America's 250th birthday than right here on Pelican Lake! We are appreciative we get to call this beautiful place our home and are grateful for our freedom here in this country. We hope you all are enjoying your holiday, whether its out on the lake or just spending time with family and friends.

Thank you all for such a wonderful season so far and being apart of the Grey Wolf community! ❤💙
