Oscoda Boys Golf

Tomorrow’s tournament vs. Tawas will be on the Serradella Back 9 and will start at 3pm! Playing in this tournament will be Alex, Colton, Hutch, Rylan, Drew, Liam, and Michael (pending). If anyone else that is eligible to play changes their mind and wants to play they need to let me know by tomorrow morning.

Varsity players that have practice will go off in one group either off the other 9 of the Serradella or the Gailes. We are hoping to have both practice and the tournament wrapped up by 6pm!

Friday there is no practice for JV. Varsity only will be going to White Pine National for a practice round for the upcoming League Championship next week. We will meet at white pine at 3:45pm and tee off at 4pm.

Due to the low temps and high winds along with the fact that the Varsity Boys froze yesterday too, we will be keeping practice short today. 3:30pm-5pm. Working range, short game, and weaknesses in our games.

The Oscoda Owls competed in the NSL meet at Rogers City City Country Club! The Owls were victorious and won the meet shooting a score of 170! The Owls were led by Cole Gerow with a 41, Alex Clarke with a 42, Shane Ellis with a 43 and Aiden Hutchings with a 44!

This was a huge performance for our chances as a league title as we have shrunk the deficit down to just 4 strokes to win the league title at the 18 hole championship match next week!

The boys battled extremely hard elements and we are extremely proud of the effort!

We are adding a tournament with Tawas for every Oscoda Golfer that has not hit a max number of tournaments. This will be at Lakewood Shores on the Serradella this Thursday with a 3pm start. Track dual sports athletes will not be able to play due to track regionals. These golfers would be good to play Thursday:

Alex, Hutch, Rylan, Drew, Liam P, Michael P, Ty, and Colton are eligible to play. We will play a hybrid of Tawas Varsity and JV who are in similar situations with tournaments remaining.

Players going to the tournament today: pack layers, towels, umbrellas, rain jackets, and anything else you can to help us get through the conditions today. This will be most likely the worst weather we’ve played in this year. 44 degrees and rain with wind. Any parents or players that can bring extra towels or an extra umbrella please do if you can! The plan is to play today if at all possible.

Tomorrow’s league tournament is at Rogers City Country Club at 4pm! We will do a 1:15pm release and 1:30pm departure in the van! Jack, Cole, Shane, Colton, Alex, and Aiden are the six golfers going tomorrow! No practice, we will pick up practice Wednesday back at Lakewood!

Big opportunity for us as we trail first place by just 8 strokes with two league tournaments remaining!

It was a total team effort by the Owls in the 2026 Huron Cup Victory over Tawas and Alcona!

All 6 teams contributed crucial points to secure the win! Final results were Oscoda 57 Tawas 53 and Alcona 34!

Some highlights were:

Jack Poland tied for first in his individual grouping in group 1!

Cole Gerow and Colton Hasty won 1st in both the scramble and best ball format for group 2!

Seth Gutierrez and Alex Clarke won 1st in scramble format for group 3!

Aiden Hutchings and Randey Eschenburg won 1st in the best ball format and each won their
individual groupings for group 4!

Rylan Block and Caleb Clare won 1st in the scramble format and Rylan won his individual grouping while Caleb tied for 1st in his individual grouping!

This is Oscoda’s first time winning the Huron Cup since it started 3 years ago!

Reminder that practice today is varsity only at Redhawk GC. Jack, Cole, Shane, Seth, Colton, Alex, Aiden, and Randey are scheduled to tee off in two groups starting at 3:40pm for 9 holes!
