(Owensboro, KY): The roar of engines and the smell of burning rubber filled western Daviess County on Saturday (August 22) as Windy Hollow Dragway hosted the 2026 installment of the “King of the Hollar” no-prep race which included honorary starter, B.J. Da Flagman from the Street Outlaws television program.

Drivers competed for “King of the Hollar” in 4 classes of racing as the event drew the largest spectator crowd in over a decade at the 1/8 mile drag strip.

In the Daily Driver class, Owensboro’s Tori Edwards took home the win.

Cody Ford took home the honors in the small tire division.

Drew Bruning was crowned “King of the Hollar” in both tailgate and true street.

“We couldn’t do this without Brent (Crowley) and Jason (Stills) who organize and promote this event and expect absolutely nothing in return,” said track owner and promoter, Trevor Hutchins. “It has been a tough year with the lightning strike, but we have a great group of racers, supporters and employees who pulled together to make this event possible.”
