VIDEO DUMP! Whiskey and Deadlifts Ukrainian deadlift, we had a lot more people try this version than conventional deadlift. We worked up to attempting 585 lbs…. Ish

PHOTO DUMP! Whiskey and deadlifts yesterday was a BLAST! Aaron West showed up, Out-lifted everyone, told awesome stories then left. I don’t think he’s on instagram, but for anyone who doesn’t know he’s the best announcer in strongman, and lives right here in Michigan. It actually means the world to me to have an event where someone of his caliber shows up. It’s going to mean a lot for physical culture here in owosso.

9 years…. 9 years since I first got the idea to start my own gym. Hard to believe it was that long ago. I started small, buying what I could afford, not going into debt. Building brick by brick. Working in gyms to learn the business, getting my CSCS, competing, building my network, all in the hope that one day I could open a brick and mortar location and call it my own and be successful. It’s small, but the potential for growth is incredible. I’ve taken so many small steps forward and backwards, from training in my parent’s garage, to a storage unit to commercial gyms. All while making new friends, meeting the love of my life, renovating a house and starting a family. This still feels like I’m still just getting started but it’s not new. It’s just another step.

Big thanks to for hosting and allowing me to compete at the last minute. Thanks to .strongman for being an amazing competitor, seriously go watch his Conan wheel video if it’s up. It was good to reconnect with so many of my strongman friends, and make some new ones. there’s too many to tag all of them but were all there and they were all there at my last contest in 2022. It’s been 3 years since I last competed in a sanctioned meet. I’ve gone up a few weight classes since then and I honestly had no idea how this was going to go. Since I’ve been busy preparing to open my gym I actually haven’t been training that much in the past month. Which is why I was surprised when I took second place. To be fair to the other competitors, there was less than a 2 point difference between 2nd 3rd and 4th place. This was such a close competition. I was in 5th out of 6th place going into the boat pull and only 4 points behind second. I knew how I was going to place all came down to the last event and my fate was in my hands. When I realized that it was entirely in my control I felt something wake up inside me and I felt such a surge in energy that the whole world slowed down. That’s why I compete.
