Results from the Johnny Hubbard Memorial 500 at Arthur Raceway.

Out of a field of 13 karts, Dad qualified 5th and I qualified 6th so we were able to start the 500 side by side. Overall everything went very smooth. We were both able to stay out of trouble for the most part and not only both finish the entire 500 laps ourselves, but place 2nd and 3rd only 5 laps behind 1st place (less than a minute total). We had a great time. I want to give the biggest thank you to our phenomenal pit crew. We had a system and man did it work. I really can’t thank Mike, Jess, Noelle, Bruce, and of course Vivian for the help all day. They are a huge reason we were so successful.

Now this week, I’ll go through the karts and get everything straightened out and I think we are planning on heading north to Northern Michigan Speedway this coming weekend. Thank you to our sponsors for the support this season

Highbanks Throwdown Recap at Owosso Motorsports Park

I started the day rough in practice. I made about 2 laps before I broke my gear hub on my axle. We scrambled to get it swapped out just in time to go out for qualifying. It was easily the worst the kart has ever been. Qualified 5th out of 8. Made some adjustments for the heat and did not gain any speed. For the feature, I made some big changes and found the speed I needed. I ended up coming from 7th and racing my way to the lead at about lap 9. Checked out by about 5 kart lengths with 3 to go until i stripped the teeth off my rear sprocket. Fortunately, dad was able to make the day not so bad. He had a fast kart all day. Qualifying 2nd, picking up 2nd in the heat race, and making a last lap pass to pick up the win on the predator 375. Overall, I’m very happy with how we did going up against the big names and top notch racing programs, at least one of us brought home a big check. I can’t thank everyone enough for the support at and away from the track. Thank you to all of our awesome sponsors making it possible to run with the big dogs

6/6/26 Owosso Motorsports Park Update

I had another light kart count in the small block open class with only 3 karts. I was able to keep it in front all night. I’m still making adjustments to hopefully get some more speed for the big race coming up in a couple weeks. Dad qualified 5th out of 10 or so in the stock predator. Had a mishap in the heat which put him starting last in the feature. He got spun in the first couple laps which led to a demounted right rear about 10 laps in. This weekend we will be heading up to Northern Michigan Speedway.

Saturday kicked off our 2026 season and we could not have asked for any better. We both set fast time qualifying, both picked up the heat win, and we both won our features (barely) and we were able to introduce Vivie to victory lane 🏁 I can’t thank everyone enough for the help and support, and Noelle for putting up with the late shop nights. And a big thank you to Jason for helping getting my kart dialed in. We have some changes to make for next weekends race at Owosso Motorsports Park and hopefully find some more speed yet

Race Season is upon us, with our first race being this coming weekend! We are working quickly to finish up the final touches to the karts. I have updated our schedule which can be found by clicking the link on our page. We will update this weekly with results. We are hoping to be able to go live at all races. Unfortunately at Elmira there is not enough cell service to be able to have a live option, but we will do our best with getting some pictures. We are super excited for the season. Here it is, the results from the 2025 Nuckin Futz 500 at Ben Hur Speedway.

By luck of the draw, I was able to start the race 2nd and dad was around 13th out of a little over 20 karts. I was able to take the lead a couple laps in and ran in the top 6 or so for the first 100 laps before I ran into my first mechanical issue. I was able to change my sprocket and continue after it put me about 40 laps down. Another 100 laps I was involved in a wreck where I had to pull off again. I was able to get everything straightened out and make about 50 more laps before I threw in the towel and parked it in the pits.

Dad on the other hand kept out of trouble for the most part and avoided most of the carnage. Everything was going great and he was able to take the lead for a short time around lap 400. Unfortunately after stopping for his final fuel stop, we had trouble getting his kart to restart. By the time we got it going, he was a few laps behind the leader. In the end, he managed to pull off a 2nd place finish.

Even though the trip home took longer than expected, we had a great weekend with a lot of fun. We both had some really fast lap times for being our first time at the track. I still don’t know how dad managed to do the full 500 laps, nearly 170 miles, and over 4 hours of intense racing by himself. I want to give a HUGE thank you to Corey, Mike, Jess, and Bruce for the help in the pits. I know we would not have had near as good of finish without them. Now, this weekend will be our final race of the 2025 season at Arthur Raceway

Race day recap from Saturdays race at Arthur Raceway -

Dad started the night setting fast time qualifying out of 7 in the stock predator class. He finished well enough in both heats to start on the pole in the feature and was able to take the checkered flag

I qualified 2nd out of a field of 9 in the animal class. I finished towards the front of both heats putting me starting 2nd in the feature. I shuffled around a few positions and still ended the night in 2nd place.

No racing for us this weekend and we will get the karts ready for the following weekend where we will travel to Indiana to compete in a 500 lap race. Huge thank you to all of our sponsors and supporters. It has been a very successful and fun year so far, and we are hoping to have the same luck for the last couple races 🏁🏁🏁
