Every expert was once a beginner. Every black belt was once learning their first stance, first punch, and first form.

Success in martial arts isn't about talent—it's about consistency. Keep showing up, keep learning, and keep moving forward.

Heart, Confidence, and the Spirit of the Hwa Rang

This past weekend, I had the privilege of visiting Motorvation Martial Arts Academy in Chesaning, and I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible effort, spirit, and heart that was shown by their students. Everyone did an amazing job. There is something special about watching students step onto the floor and give their best. Not perfect. Not fearless. Not without nerves....

Is martial arts really worth the cost?

We get this question a lot, and honestly, it’s a fair one.

Martial arts is more than just another activity on the calendar. It’s a long-term investment in your child’s confidence, discipline, focus, respect, and physical health.

At Owosso Martial Arts, students are not just learning how to kick and punch. They are learning how to show up, try again, handle challenges, listen better, build self-control, and believe in themselves one class at a time.

The real value is not just in the belt they earn.

It’s in the confidence they carry into school.
The discipline they bring home.
The courage they build when something feels hard.
The pride they feel when they realize, “I can do this.”

That’s why we believe martial arts is worth it.

Meet Sa Bom Nim Bradford!

Sa Bom Nim Bradford began training in Tang Soo Do in October 2005 at the age of 12. What started as a personal martial arts journey has grown into a mission to help students build confidence, discipline, respect, and perseverance both inside and outside the dojang.

At Owosso Martial Arts, his goal is to create a place where students and families feel supported, challenged, and encouraged every step of the way.

We are out here and ready for another great day representing Owosso Martial Arts! 🥋

There is something special about seeing our students and families come together outside the dojang and be part of the community. Whether we are training on the mat, walking in a parade, or cheering each other on, this is what Owosso Martial Arts is all about.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us this weekend. We are proud of our students, our families, and this growing martial arts community.

Don’t forget, Owosso Martial Arts will also be doing a demonstration tonight at the entertainment tent at 7:00 PM. Come out, cheer loud, and help us show the spirit of Tang Soo Do!

It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the cancellation of the Kids in Curwood Country Parade 2026 due to weather conditions.

We know this news is incredibly disappointing. We share that disappointment, especially for the many children who were excited to participate and the families who were looking forward to celebrating this beloved Curwood tradition.

Unfortunately, we are also unable to move the parade to Sunday. The Curwood Festival is powered entirely by volunteers, and after careful consideration, we simply do not have the manpower needed to safely organize and operate the parade on an alternate day.

Our volunteers have already dedicated countless hours planning, organizing, and preparing for this event. They work tirelessly behind the scenes throughout the year and throughout festival weekend to make these traditions possible for our community. We are deeply grateful for their commitment, hard work, and love for Curwood.

While we are saddened that the parade cannot take place this year, the safety of our participants, spectators, and volunteers must come first.

Thank you for your understanding, your support, and for continuing to support the volunteers who make the Curwood Festival possible. ❤️🤍❤️
