🎉 100 CLASSES!

Congratulations to Carol Keller on reaching 100 classes with Tree of India Yoga! 🧘‍♀️

100 classes is a beautiful reminder that transformation happens over time. Through breath, movement, awareness, and the simple act of continuing to show up, a yoga practice becomes part of the way we live.

Carol, we’re grateful to be part of your journey and to celebrate this milestone with you. Here’s to what comes next! 💛

What if the point of āsana (yoga poses) isn’t to get better at doing the poses?

What if the pose is simply the place where we begin to pay attention?

That’s the question at the heart of the second module in the new 300-Hour yoga studies program:

Āsana as a Path to Awareness
November 21–22, 2026

Drawing from the teachings of Swami Kripalu, we’ll explore āsana as a spiritual practice and a way of cultivating awareness, not simply as physical exercise or a pursuit of achievement.

We’ll look at the relationship between the body, prāṇa, sensation, and awareness, and spend time noticing what arises beneath the surface of the physical practice.

Tension. Emotion. Habit. Resistance. Breath. Sensation.

Rather than constantly trying to improve our experience, what happens when we become curious about it?

This is one of the things I love most about yoga: the practice gives us a place to meet ourselves exactly where we are.

This module is open to individual participants as well as students pursuing the full 300-hour program.

Where did yoga come from?

How did these traditions develop? And what does any of that have to do with the yoga we actually practice in studios today?

Those are some of the questions we’ll explore in the first module of the new 300-Hour program:

Yoga Foundations: History, Philosophy & Sāṃkhya
October 24–25, 2026

We’ll look at the roots and evolution of yoga, Sāṃkhya, Pātañjala Yoga, and the philosophical traditions that have shaped yoga over time.

But this isn’t history just for history’s sake…

We’ll also explore how these teachings have influenced the practices we do today, and what changes when we understand more about where they came from.

Why? Because studying yoga’s history and philosophy can change the way we practice.

This program is open to anyone who wants to study yoga more deeply. You don’t have to commit to the full 300-hour program to participate.

Yoga is better when it’s shared. 🌿

Tree of India members receive Buddy Passes to invite a friend to class.

Bring them with you.

September is a great time to introduce someone to your practice, and to Tree of India!

A NEW CHAPTER FOR TREE OF INDIA SCHOOL OF YOGA

At some point, many of us stop wanting to simply do MORE yoga and start wanting to understand more. ❣️

Where did these practices come from?

Why do we practice the way we do?

What happens when we get more intimate with the teachings, the practices, and our own experience?

This fall we’re launching the new 300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training at Tree of India School of Yoga.

Jessica has been working on this for a long time, and she’s really happy to finally have it out in the world. ❣️❣️

The program is rooted in the ta**ra hatha yoga tradition of Swami Kripalu and is designed for experienced yoga teachers as well as dedicated practitioners who want to study yoga more deeply.

And you don’t have to commit to all 300 hours to participate! The program is made up of individual modules that can be taken in any order and at your own pace.

We’re beginning this fall with:

Yoga Foundations: History, Philosophy & Sāṃkhya
October 24–25

Āsana as a Path to Awareness
November 21–22

If you’ve been practicing for a while and have found yourself wanting to understand more, take a look.
