We were thrilled to welcome students from Oakland University’s Pre Veterinary Medical Association Club for a hands on day at the farm!

Students had the opportunity to learn more about the equine industry, hear from Mary about her role at Shenanigans, and spend the day building practical skills. They practiced haltering, grooming and leading horses, then joined Dr. Megan Ahearne for an in depth discussion about equine veterinary medicine.

The day also included a demonstration on form versus function, differences in movement between breeds, X rays, wrapping techniques and plenty of time working with the horses.

We love giving future equine professionals the chance to learn, ask questions and experience the industry firsthand. Thank you to Oakland University’s Pre Veterinary Medical Association Club for spending the day with us! 🐎

📣Who's looking for a great first pony??? We have an awesome large!

Violet is a 12 year old welsh pony cross looking for her next kid. She is the ultimate first pony, having taken her current rider from crosspoles through the children's large ponies.

She walks into any ring and marches around never looking at a jump with an easy lead change. She is easy to handle on the ground. Loads, clips and stands politely for the farrier and vet. No 'mareish' behaviors, not on regumate or other mare suppliment.

Our final summer camp wrapped up last week, and what an amazing summer it was! ☀️

Thank you to every camper and family who spent part of their summer with us. We are so grateful you chose to make these memories with us!

A very special thank you to our incredible counselors. They gave so much of their time, energy, patience, and heart to our campers all summer long. From early mornings to busy camp days, they showed up ready to help, encourage, supervise, and make every camper feel welcome and included!!

Our counselors are such a huge part of what makes camp special, and we truly could not have had the summer we did without them.

Wrapped up August shows with a fantastic weekend at Win a Gin! We had an incredible group of ponies and horses, and we couldn’t be more proud of our riders.

Congratulations to each and every one of you! You should all be so proud of your riding and accomplishments. What a great way to finish out the month! 🐴

A fun week wrapped up on Little Hooves Camp at the farm! We had the sweetest group of silly kids who loved on all of our ponies and horses, made some fun memories, and had a whole lot of fun playing around the farm. 🐴
