🔥 The Spiruline 🪂
This wing is completely under-rated. This is our wing of choice for speed flying and it's amazing in high wind soaring. It's the "Grandfather" of mini wings- the first of its kind in 2008 (now on its 5th iteration) and every other brand copied it. ©️
We're back home on the coast but I wanted to share a couple of my favorite flights from Chelan Speedfest. 🪽
I'm terrible at describing wings, but I thought of this analogy and think it's funny: "The Spiruline is like a kitten, until you make it purr." 😹
If you don't know cats- when you get them purring a whole bunch, they get over-stimulated and go crazy. That's what happens when you throw this bad boy around. 🌀
I used the kitten analogy because it is not only fun for experienced pilots to play with, but it's also our beginner-friendly mini wing, so you can fly it nice and relaxed; then once you get the hang of it, you can throw it around like a cat flipping its toy into the air! 🐈
This is also a fun tool to keep in your quiver for high wind kiting and getting the feel for wing management. Once your comfortable there, this thing is a boss in the air in high winds. Sure, we talk about the Puffin a ton, but this thing is as solid as a brick and acts as a go-kart doing exactly what you ask it to do and where you tell it to go. 🏎️
Fun fact: you can also throw kite risers on it, turn it into a parakite and really have some fun! 🪁
