Ok sure jiu jitsu isnt easy, you'll sometimes be sore in ways a regular workout doesn't even come close to! Most people quit within the first 1 or 2 years and the reasons for quitting are valid- not enough time, not quick enough progress, not good enough instruction or training partners, injuries, to name some I've heard.
Jiu jitsu can be rough but with the right mindset, good training partners and instructors you can sidestep some of those negatives.
But as someone who's been riding this bjj train for a long time I can tell you that the journey is worth it. I never started this because I wanted or even thought that I could attain a black belt but it happened. I am a better human because of the trials and tribulations along the way. The extended family from the various academies that I've attended over the years I still consider brothers + sisters. If I ever needed to I could defend myself and those near and dear to me.
I'm continuing to learn and evolve and definitely still find joy on the mats.
We have a wonderful crew of women at THRIVE to train with and are always ready willing and able to show newbies the ropes if you are !
