Apparently, buying a hotter sauna was a decision I made. I stumbled in the beginning there, but I found my footing!

It's the one that fits your life.

You probably aren't going to wake up tomorrow looking like a Viking warrior because you ate one salad and went to the gym twice.
Turns out progress is annoyingly slow.
It's built through boring things like consistency, patience, and continuing to show up when motivation decides to take a vacation.
Some days you'll feel strong. Some days you'll feel like a wet potato trying its best.
Keep swinging the hammer anyway.
Because the forge doesn't care how you feel today. It cares whether you showed up.
One hammer. One strike at a time.

A lot of people don't need a better workout plan.They need a plan that actually fits their life.

A consistent 30-45 minute workout will beat the perfect 2-hour workout you never do!

Stop trying to force your life around fitness.Build your fitness around your life!

No, that doesn't mean your hydration strategy can be four cups of coffee and a dream.

Most people think strength is about power.

Lifting more.
Doing more.
Being louder.

But true strength is knowing when to act, when to listen, and when to hold yourself accountable.

The strongest warrior isn't the one who defeats everyone around him.

It's the one who masters himself.

-Between The Sets-
Apparently, talking between sets is harder than I thought.

In the sauna, I can sit there like a wise fitness wizard and pretend I have my life together.

Between sets? I'm trying to remember what point I was making while convincing myself that the next set isn't actually that bad.

So if this video feels a little rough... good. You're watching a new skill get forged in real time.

As for today's topic...The scale is dramatic.

You gain a little water weight?
Scale: "WE NEED TO TALK."

You eat a salty meal?
Scale: "ABSOLUTE DISASTER."

You build muscle while losing body fat?
Scale: "I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT'S HAPPENING."

That's why one number shouldn't be the only thing you're tracking.

Measurements matter. Performance matters. How your clothes fit matters and muscle matters too.

Research has linked low muscle mass with a higher risk of all-cause mortality. Turns out that having muscle is useful for more than carrying all the groceries in one trip.

Well.......I'm gonna keep practicing these Between The Sets videos.

You keep practicing not letting the scale ruin your entire day.

BETWEEN THE SETS – Episode 1

Before the internet fitness police arrive.....Yes, this is my first Between The Sets video.

Yes, it's my first time using this microphone.

Yes, the audio levels occasionally decided they had their own workout plan.

We're learning together!

I tell people all the time that you don't need to be perfect to start. Apparently, now I have to take my own advice.

The goal of Between The Sets is simple. Its real conversations between sets about fitness, discipline, mindset, and all the nonsense that gets in the way of progress.

So if you see me out of breath, struggling with audio, or figuring this out as I ........GOOD!

That's what learning looks like.

Anyway, I'm gonna get back to pretending I know what I'm doing.

Some days, you feel unstoppable.
Some days, you have to drag yourself forward one decision at a time.

That second version of you?
That’s the one that changes your life.

And trust me… the sauna is NOT my favorite thing after a workout.

I know it helps me recover, reset, and slow down for a minute… so I put the work in anyway.

That’s the point!

Not everything that helps you grow is always going to feel comfortable in the moment.

Small promises kept over time become identity!

Part Two: Stop Stacking Stress and Calling It Discipline

Dialing in recovery can look different for everyone and at different levels.

Don’t come for me. This is a general summary, not a full recovery dissertation written in a sauna while FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE!

But the main idea is simple:

The better you recover, the better chance your body has to adapt.

And the better you adapt, the more you may be able to push over time.

Recovery isn’t just rest.

It’s sleep, nutrition, hydration, stress management, and giving your body enough time and resources to respond to the work you’re doing.

Because training is stress.

Life is stress.

Your body has to recover from ALL OF IT.

Train with intention.

Recover with intention.
