A fellow karateka lost his home (small and no insurance - Florida is getting that way) And I would like to help him get back in his feet. I, and his karate family are trying to raise enough for home to put down, first, last, and security for him to rent something for himself and his young son.

The WPB Preservation Foundation is coming Together as a not-for-profit 501(3)c. . . . Please check out the page (links above and below) and PLEASE FOLLOW!!!. . .

no other action is being requested,

WE will be asking for volunteers and community support in the near (very near) future. . . think the old Methodist Church downtown and the proposed REMOVAL of the grand ascending staircase. . . and writing letters to City Admin. . . and showing up at commission meetings.

Please, please, please follow?. . . my parents were members and married in that church, and many other locals were members as well. It truly is a historic landmark that should be registered as such, but is not.

Another angel in heaven. Willie Parson "the Mayor of the 500 block" has past away.

This man walked from Thomasville Georgia to West Palm Beach for work and settled here. I remember him as a parking lot attendant in the 90's and saw him regularly when I worked at the City of WPB. . . when I retired from the City, I was lucky enough to see him when I walked to downtown early in the mornings and would see him sitting at a table in front of O'Shea's. Sometimes Mayor Joel Daves would be with him or see me sitting and talking with Willie and come over for an old-fashioned sit-down conversation among gentlemen. It was an honor to know this man!!! Rest well Willie!

Please follow!!!. . . a new grass roots organization is starting up in order to save the historically significant buildings in West Palm Beach. . . buildings that should have been designated years ago are at risk of losing their historic characteristics. . . think of the old courthouse. . . being preserved at the moment, but it has never been designated as being historically significant and could be changed at any time. . . follow for updates!!!!!

The Old Methodist Church (Harriet Himmel) was never designated as historic. The old Palm Beach County Courthouse was never designated. West Palm Beach’s first fire station, Datura Station, was never designated.
This is the first post of this new page to get things started and invite people to join the fight and make needed changes. Ultimately a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization – The Preservation Foundation of West Palm Beach – will be formed.
The Dade Heritage Trust was founded in 1972. The Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach was founded in 1980. It’s time, and has been for some time, for such an organization for West Palm Beach.
We want to inform, educate, support and preserve. We hope that you will join this effort and like and share this page so that we can build our grassroots effort from the ground up.

Listing agent will need more than 1.5% to cover costs of advertising and overhead. . . that means commission costs to seller are now above 6%. . . which will be passed on to buyer. . . . NOT what those that sued the NRA had in mind. . .but today's reality because of it. . . somone forgot that the 6% standard was market driven. . . it has always been negotiable, , , not mandated.. . stay tuned
