When a candidate is trash talking their last employer in the interview, that is all you need to hear. Pass.
You want people on your team who challenge your thinking. That is a sign you hired well. Just make sure the tone stays right.
Your team needs you to show up even on your worst days. That is what leadership actually looks like.
Raises should be tied to results, not time served. If you do not have KPIs for every role, that conversation will always be awkward.
Sometimes the best person for the job does not see it yet. That is your job as a leader, to show them.
A bad attitude left unchecked will bring the whole team down. Address it early, lead with kindness, and hold the standard.
