What is Business for Nerds?
It’s for people building a business who don’t need more guru noise.

I remember back in the day being quoted $10,000 to help “get my business going.”
This was 2015. I was a newb private practice owner. I hung up the phone and cried.
Another thing we’re often facing is coaches promising things like:
“Recession-proof your business!”
“Get to 6 figures in 6 months!”
…and I’m always like 🙄
Scott Perry talks about this a lot — big promises, small delivery.
Yesterday I saw a post promising these kinds of things and my therapist-nerd brain short-circuited a bit.
The truth?
No coach can recession-proof anything or guarantee 6 figures in 6 months.
Unless it’s a fluke.
There’s no universal formula for that because what worked for them won’t automatically work for us and our audiences. We each have to find our own path here.
What good coaches can help with:
– Understanding your numbers
– Brainstorming and building diversified income streams
– Reducing your dependence on any one platform or payer
– Building offers that actually fit your energy + season of life.
What we can’t do:
– Control the economy
– Prevent policy changes
– Guarantee full caseloads forever
I’m not interested in selling invincibility.
I’m interested in helping weary, smart, overgiving therapists, coaches, and nerds:
– stop building in the dark
– stop overpaying for vague blueprints
– start running small, doable experiments that actually move the needle over time
If you’ve been burned by a big-ticket program that overpromised, you’re not the problem.
The promise was.
My work (Offer Lab, Compassion Reset, etc.) won’t promise “recession-proof.”
It will promise:
– burnout-management ideas
– a path to clarity
– smaller risks
– nerdy support
– and business experiments that respect your nervous system
If that’s the game you’d rather play, you’re my people. 💜
If we watch a plant grow every day, we check the soil, if we dig it up, we prevent it from taking root.
If we are spinning our wheels and investing (time, attention, effort, income) in things without return, sure let's take a look at that but let's be sure not to dig up a plant that could be fruitful.

It's National Coffee day! Let's celebrate together.
Online, we often interact as nothing more than “little circles” — avatars and profile pics. In this playful arcade-style video, I share a conversation with Jake Anderson that unpacks why it’s so easy to dehumanize people online, and how empathy and connection return when we step beyond the circle.
✨ This is part of the Nerdiverse, my coaching + creative community for nerdy entrepreneurs, burned-out helpers, and creatives who want to build with compassion.
