CTA Palo Alto’s newest purple belt!! For many this isn’t their first gym, and it won’t be their last gym, but for the time they spent here we are truly blessed!

Congratulations to everyone who was promoted last night and everyone who came out to support!! When we opened CTA Palo Alto, I hoped the seeds we planted would take root in the community. Last night was a testament to that! Thanks to everyone who came out to support, the students abo make this place special and all the teachers and staff for setting the culture. Less than 4 years old and growing daily, can’t wait to see where we are next year!!

Amazing night!! Congrats to everyone who got promoted and thank you to everyone who makes CTA Palo Alto such an amazing gym. Three years in and this is only the beginning!

I have known since he was a teenager, and it’s been an absolute pleasure to see him grow into the man he is today. This past weekend, I had the honor of attending his wedding in Hawaii, and I couldn’t be happier. has always been by his side through the ups and downs, injuries and setbacks, his ride or die, who now has a new title, Mrs Kahuanui! Congrats to both of you, wishing you a lifetime of happiness and laughter!

We often think of BJJ as an individual sport, but if you’ve been around it long enough, you realize it really is a team sport. We can not train by ourselves; when we compete, the support from others, the belief and knowledge from our professor, and the preparation from our training partners make all the difference.

This weekend, we had fewer competitors than other teams, even with the contribution of some people who weren’t necessarily planning on competing but signed up anyway to help the team. I can’t thank everyone enough. In the end, we took home first in both gi and no gi!

Congrats to everyone who competed. You may or may not have gotten the results you wanted, but everyone who competed is better today because of the work you did this weekend. Wins and losses do not define us, but rather how we live our lives! Keep training, and remember to take time to enjoy the journey, so yours is an amazing one! Next up worlds!!!
