The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

We are excited to announce that Emily Smith, MD, has been appointed to the 2026-2027 RSS Residents Association Executive Committee!
Executive committee members are responsible for steering educational initiatives, mentorship programs, and career development for clinical and medical physics trainees.
Dr. Smith’s research has focused on expanding the applications of stereotactic radiosurgery, including its role in treating spinal arteriovenous malformations and its use for benign conditions in pediatric and young adult patients.

Welcome to Stanford Radiation Oncology, Olga Stafford! Dr. Stafford joins our department as a clinical assistant professor (radiation physics). Her professional and research interests focus on the safe clinical integration of advanced technologies in radiation oncology, including AI-support workflows, stereostatic radiosurgery, small-field dosimetry, adaptive radiation therapy, and practical QA strategies that support safe and scalable implementation in community practice.

We are thrilled to welcome (back) Zhuoran Jiang to our department as a clinical assistant professor of radiation oncology (radiation physics)! Dr. Jiang recently completed her medical physics residency in our department.
Her research focuses on developing artificial intelligence-based methods to improve radiation therapy in the realm of image guidance, deformable image registration, and dose verification.
