Palo Alto Soo Bahk Do

Palo Alto Soo Bahk Do was present at the Dan Shim Sa in Lomita park, hosted by Lomita Park Soo Bahk Do. As always, they ran it so well and I was happy I could be there to participate. As always, did not miss an opportunity to spend time with my instructor Fred Messersmith SBN and we got a great picture with South Bay Martial Arts. Thank you all for a great time! Can't wait until we meet again!

Palo Alto Soo Bahk Do has moved a number of times and gone few quite a few changes in the past years. I thought I should update the banner to reflect our current school and members. I hope you all like it!

Palo Alto Soo Bahk Do had a great showing at the Dan Shim Sa in Gardena over the past weekend. Great to see my instructor Fred Messersmith SBN and many others from South Bay Martial Arts! We got to take a great group picture at the end. Soo Bahk!

We had a great Gup Shim Sa (Rank Test) a few weeks ago and all 6 who tested did great. Yesterday we promoted them! Congratulations to one and all. This is an interesting and historic event for me: I now have no active white belts for the first time ever!

p.s.: I am open for new students! All ages (6+), all demographics, all levels of fitness. Just bring the right attitude and show up consistently and good things will happen before you know it.

We had a big and historic promotion ceremony this past week despite a few people not being able to make it in person. All students performed great in their test and should be proud!

This was also a historic promotion as we had our first homegrown E Dan promotion for the studio! I couldn't be more proud of Pernille!

Next week we do what we do best: continue training!

I am super excited to say that we are going back to in-person classes starting on August 30! We also have a new home: Cubberley Community Center in Palo Alto!

I can't wait to see you all in person! We will of course, continue to observe any social distance protocols deemed necessary.

Had a great time at the Dan Shim Sa yesterday. Here are the E Dan and Sam Dan candidates. Very proud of everybody’s effort and dedication to the art. It was strange seeing so many people in person and testing on the grass. And we even got a little rain during the test! Definitely a test day to remember! I unfortunately did not get a photo with everyone but the Macskássy clan was there.

I was recently able to visit South Bay Martial Arts to receive my Kyo Sa certification. One of many milestones in my lifelong martial arts journey. Many more to come!
