Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001, and the lives forever changed that day.

We honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families who continue to carry their memory, the first responders who showed extraordinary courage, and the countless acts of compassion that brought people together in the days that followed.

25 years later, we remember those we lost and the heroes who stepped forward.

50 years ago today, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior, taking all 29 crew members with her. It remains one of the Great Lakes’ most haunting reminders of nature’s power and the human drive to push forward even through uncertainty.

For those of us in the Midwest, the Great Lakes are more than landmarks. They are part of our identity. They sustain industries, communities, and ecosystems that we all depend on.

At ClearStream Recycling, we believe honoring that legacy means protecting the waterways and environments that shaped it. Every event we help make more sustainable, every bin that keeps recyclables out of landfills, plays a small part in preserving what the Great Lakes have given us.
