💙 Wisdom Wednesday 💙
One of the biggest mistakes parents can make is comparing their child’s progress to someone else’s.
Every athlete is different.
Some children pick up new skills in a matter of days. Others may take weeks, months, or even years to master the exact same skill. Some athletes will eventually reach advanced tumbling levels, while others may simply enjoy the sport for fitness, friendships, and fun—and that’s perfectly okay.
There is no magic timeline that tells us when a child will get a back walkover, back handspring, or tuck. Genetics, body awareness, flexibility, strength, confidence, fear, maturity, focus, and work ethic all play a role.
Instead of asking, “Why isn’t my child where that athlete is?” ask, “Is my child making progress from where they started?”
Celebrate the small victories. Encourage the effort. Build their confidence.
If you have questions about your athlete’s progression, talk with their coach! We are always happy to discuss where they are in their journey and what they can work on to continue improving.
Remember, 55 minutes a week doesn’t create great athletes. The athletes who progress the fastest are often putting in extra work through strength training, flexibility, drills at home, private lessons, or multiple classes each week.
Most importantly, remove the expectations and comparisons. Let your child enjoy the journey, trust the process, and fall in love with learning.
Progress isn’t a race—it happens one skill, one correction, and one victory at a time. 💪🦈

✅ Open to everyone (you do NOT have to be a CXA athlete!)

✅ Coaches on the floor to supervise and monitor

• Athletes must have an iClassPro account and signed waivers on file.
• This is NOT Open Gym and is intended for athletes who come to work on tumbling only.
• Minimal to no spotting will be provided.
