We had so much fun on the floor with all of our seasoned pros and such a wonderful, growing group of new dancers. Seeing everyone learning new steps and sharing the joy of dance is what it’s all about! 💃🕺

🌪️👠 We’re Off to See the Wizard, Boots on the Bay Fam! 🌈✨

Ever hear one of your instructors call for a Wizard Step and think they're playing Harry Potter? Or maybe you know it by its classic name: the Dorothy Step! Yes, it is inspired by Dorothy skipping down the Yellow Brick Road in The Wizard of Oz! 🛣

This steps pops up everywhere, from beginner favorites to advanced floor-fillers. It looks like a smooth, continuous rolling movement, but it is all about mastering the syncopated timing. Instead of a standard triple step, it uses a unique 1 - 2 - & rhythm where you step forward diagonally, slide your back foot to lock behind, and quickly step out again.
