Hey Everyone! In a little over a month, we will be having the annual Sunshine Classic Open Karate Tournament. This will be the 38th year. Wow! It will be in the same place as last year, Jinks Middle School. Come join us for another year of good competition and fun with your fellow karate-ka. After the competition, you can enjoy the shopping and food of Downtown Panama City or head across the bridge to Panama City Beach. See you there! OSU!
So this past Thursday we worked on flexibility, balance, range of motion and core strength. My good friend, Shelle McDonald, came by and took us through an hour long yoga workout. She is a certified instructor at a local gym. Thank you Shelle! 🙏🧘

This past Saturday, we had a Black/Brown Belt workout in Oxford, Alabama with the two Directors of World Yoshukai and instructors from other dojos. Before the actual workout began, five of our own students received their Shodan (1st degree) Black Belts. We are so proud of these Karate-ka, they have worked hard the past several years. We know that they will represent World Yoshukai very well. Not only are they proficient with the physical aspect, but they practice the mental aspect of what it means to be a martial artist and Black Belt. Congratulations Everyone of you! OSU! 🥋

Last night we had a Fight Night. Everyone had a great time. There were several new karate-ka, they were understandably nervous, but there were smiles all around afterwards. We did both point sparring and full contact.

Last week we had a Belt Ceremony and awarded new ranks to those who had earned them. As usual, we also had a circuit style workout before they received their new belts and also the cookie cake. Congratulations everyone! OSU!
