🚨 RACING CANCELED FOR TONIGHT 🚨

Unfortunately, due to the amount of rain we received last night and the possibility of additional rain later today, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s racing program at Paragon Speedway.

We hate to make this call, but with the amount of water already on the grounds and more weather possible, we feel this is the best decision for our drivers, teams, fans, and staff.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support of Paragon Speedway! 🏁❤️

52 years ago today a lot happening at Paragon Speedway as the clipping says
One of the coolest things is Paragon Indiana’s Suzie Grenier Rayl picks up the first main event win for the Paragon Indiana Grenier family as she won the powder puff
Paragon Speedway Legend Rex Mitchell would win the main event in the Sprint Cars . Rex would win the Midwest National Championship that year as well as the Paragon track championship in 1974 . Rex was getting Firestone drag 500 that year from Goergia. His kid brother was putting them on a greyhound bus and having them sent to Bloomington and Rex was running like a house on fire on those tires before everyone was obtaining them .
Frank Hollingsworth was voted that night by the Sprint Car drivers and owners as the 1974 most popular driver . Hollingsworth won that award multiple time he was truly loved by the fans and his peers
The stock cars that night seen the great Warthern & Mesmer racing team win on August 24, 1974 . Steve Mesmer would go on and win the inaugural Hobby Stock Championship in 1974
Belle Sheppard had to cut a couple drivers loose for fighting that night but she also done what Belle Sheppard done and that was awarding a young fan a new bicycle
