When you're looking at two big crappie and a good sized bass sneaks in and steals your jig, it should work on your determination. I lost the bass thinking it was a catfish and not playing it accordingly but went back to the crappie after tying a new jig on. One was still waiting on me.
I didn't see many in today's hunt but all over 1.25 still swimming after I said hello to them.
Had to use Mcw Baits today to see how well they were liked. The fish were shunning what they choked on yesterday.

Rode with Allen Ballard today to fish spots neither of us have checked in a while. The sandbass population is improving with some good size ones occasionally. No where near as before the die off but its getting there. Crappie size is improving on most brushpiles.
Contact me for crappie or Allen for any species.
I'll usually start chasing bass and sandies around October thru December. I have had some epic trips for numbers in the past during the fall.

Its summertime. Crappie are in the shade!! I'm not much for fishing brush but the best place to catch fish is where they are!! Brushpiles are loaded with 9 to 11 inch fish. You may cull 2 dinks for every keeper but at least you're catching!! I have some Saturdays open so holler if you want to learn a little about Pat Mayse crappie.

Tad windy this week! Makes for some easy catching when it lets up enough to hit the stacked up spots. I fished several hours today, picking up some dinks and a couple of keepers where I caught some last. As soon as the wind eased up a little I switched gears, changed locations and put 8 fish in the boat in just a few minutes. I just wanted enough to feed my help tomorrow evening.

Uncle Jesse's Tournament for big bass has been my frustration for so many years. I've only weighed in dinks just because I was on a team. Weighing in a 4.67 yesterday for 24th doesn't sound great but when you face that mental battle every year, it's winning for yourself. Pulling into an area that has been fished hard all day at the time you planned to, waiting impatiently for a boat to move enough to get into it, shaking off two little bites so they wouldn't stay. Knowing those two bites showed what was about to take place. I pulled into the spot based on the Huntzone app major wildlife movement times and proceeded to catch 3 limits of bass over 2.5 # with the 4.67 kicker to weigh in. I talked to others that fished it early and never got a bite. I've focused so much on crappie for the last 6 years that my fever for bass has dwindled a lot. It's starting to burn again!! Long day without food makes one face look gloomy!

My first free Saturday for awhile. Someone could have been with me. Twelve chunks for grilling and at least sixteen more released to grow some more. The counter I'm using now works for me better than any other. I can track my cleaning fish and fish caught if I'm releasing at same time. I have another made for tracking Texas and Oklahoma limits.

This young man rode along with his Dad and I this afternoon. There wasn't any quit in him. I was informed it was nearly 9 when I got home. I'm less than 1.5 miles from the ramp🤣.
Anyway we lost the trolling motor about two hours in but still managed to pick up several fish around some brushpiles. I seldom use a net unless its a giant so he lost a few learning how to flip them in. He will be a pretty good stick one day.

I had Rich and Bonnie on the boat this morning. After a couple of practice bites they started laying the steel to them lips!! Rich had a pb bass to finish out the day at 5.5 #.

I helped Allen Ballard run a two boat trip today with a family of six.
A successful trip on a day with winds blowing 14 to 20 is one where everyone stays safe. Having fun and having crappie for dinner is the bonus.
Thanks to Mcw Baits , M3 Jigs and Thermocline Lures we got it done. We caught bass, crappie, catfish, sand bass, and drum on big and small baits in water from 18 inches to 22 foot.
