🚧 This morning, E Wood St will be closed from Poplar St to Brewer St. Thank you for your understanding!

The Paris BPU Wastewater Department and the City of Paris Public Works will have East Wood Street closed from Poplar Street to Brewer Street starting at 7 o’clock in the morning while we complete repairs in the area.
This closure is expected to last throughout most of the work day. Please use caution when traveling downtown. We appreciate your patience!

🚒 Fire Station #1 is taking shape! Construction continues to move forward on the City of Paris’ new Fire Station #1, with major structural work nearing completion and crews making progress on the roof, exterior and interior of the building.

Inside, framing and the installation of essential systems are underway, while work on the apparatus bay and exterior masonry will continue in the coming weeks. As the project moves into the next phase, residents will begin to see even more visible progress at the site.

The project remains on schedule, with a current completion date of March 18, 2027.

The City of Paris is accepting bids for a pole barn for the Public Works Department. Sealed bids will be accepted at 100 N Caldwell Street until 9:00 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2026.

✨ Glow Over Paris! brought hot air balloons back to Eiffel Tower Park for the first time in 30 years, drawing an estimated 24,400 visitors to the park and people from across the region.

In observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 7, City offices and facilities—including City Hall, Public Works, the Landfill, Civic Center, and Animal Shelter—will be closed.

Sanitation routes scheduled for Monday will be picked up on Tuesday, September 8, along with the regular Tuesday routes.

The Eiffel Tower Splash Park will be open from 10 AM to 6 PM with free admission, and all emergency services will continue to operate as usual. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Two days away! Glow Over Paris is this Saturday, September 5, from 5–10 PM at Eiffel Tower Park. 🎉 And since we’re feeling a little nostalgic, here’s a throwback to the last time hot air balloons filled the park back in 1995. Now they’re coming back!

Save this post for the event map and parking map so you know where everything is and where to park before you arrive.

Enjoy live music from Saved By the Music, food trucks, tethered balloon rides, the FREE Splash Park, and glow balloon lights beginning around 7 PM. ✨ Presented by the Henry County Tourism Authority and hosted at Eiffel Tower Park by the City of Paris.
