Ski Rex got some flair today and a ride around the block with grandma!

Well, it’s her first press. Made the local paper!

Parade Day Debut. After endless hours of work, she was ready to grace the streets of Miners Town for the parade. Park City is the best place to live or visit.

Been awhile since I posted an update. Ski Rex is coming along. New seatbelts are installed, seats are put back in, stereo is in, fenders are installed, side mirrors are on, etc. trying to get it ready for the minor day parade tomorrow.

Ran into serious issues with fuel injection that took up all of yesterday. Engine ran like s**t under load. Fuel pressure would dramatically drop when hitting the gas. Replaced everything (fuel line, fuel pump, etc) and nothing changed. Adjusted timing to rule that out. No change. Ended up bypassing the tank and running the engine from a fuel can. Bingo! Ran like a champ.

So today… we drained gas and pulled tank off. Totally cleaned it and the in tank screen. Hoping this resolves the problem.

Busy, but productive weekend. Replaced old 4 barrel carburetor with modern fuel injection hoping it would run better and require less maintenance. It involved swapping out the entire fuel system (pump, filters, hoses, etc) and taking off the entire exhaust in order to get the O2 sensor in the right place. We were able to get it on and the difference was dramatic. Thanks to Paul Strange for his help. Wouldn’t have been able to do it without him.

2nd coat of color is on. Waiting for it to dry a bit before we put top/last coat on. Then we paint undercarriage black which should make it pop even more. Lastly, we polish it up to give it the parade day shine!!!

She’s gettin’ ready to get purdy. Primed and wet-sanded, paint tomorrow.
