The U.S. Ski & Snowboard Junior Championships (formerly Junior Olympics) have been the premier junior championship tournament since the mid 1970s.

Virtually all of U.S. Ski & Snowboard's Olympic and World Champions have participated in the Junior Championship program. The success of the Junior Championships as the showcase of junior competition is due to the member clubs who take on the responsibility of hosting these important events. The clubs provide the venues, the officials, the volunteers, the financial resources and the infrastructure
