Training Protocol

PARTICIPATION ELIGIBILITY

The competition will be carried out in accordance with 2015-2016 IBSF rules. All athletes must have a valid IBSF E-license issued by their National Federation. It is the responsibility of the National Federation to enter its athletes through the IBSF’s online system at http://ibsf.sportresult.com.

Each athlete must also complete a Canada Olympic Park waiver.

Race fees are to be paid to the Race Office unless prior arrangements have been made and approved by the IBSF Para-sport Committee.

TRAINING:

Two (2) runs are offered each day of official training (November 7-13)

There will be no break between training heats unless announced.

Registration for training, complete with all athlete’s names must be submitted via the IBSF site the day before the training session. Should you have any difficulties registering your team for training please notify the Jury President.

The Start House is only for the use of race officials, participating athletes and their support staff.
Pilot sleds will be used before each training session.

Label your scabbards so that they can be easily identified (not applicable for Para-sport events)


Only three sleds on the ice apron at one time, plus one sled on the start. Keep the area immediately behind the start block as clear as possible to leave room for the competing athletes.

No cameras or tripods are allowed on the track walls.

All Team Captains meetings will be held at the Bob Niven Training Centre as per the schedule unless notified otherwise by the event organizer

The shades will be positioned according to the weather conditions.

Training results will be available in the Race Office after each training session as well as via the Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton web site.

Any athletes involved in accidents must immediately report to the medical staff for clearance to continue participating.

There is no drinking water at the start or finish so please ensure your athletes come to the track with their own water or drinks.
