Communications Manager
(Year-round) Full-time
SALARY: From $60,000 a year

REPORTS TO: General Manager
The Position:
Detail-oriented communications manager with the knowledge and relationship skills to provide the interface between the Club and our membership. The primary responsibilities include gathering information, graphic elements and photos for, as well as writing, editing, design, layout and production of, weekly and targeted email blasts, as well as club management software oversight, website updates and administration, and management of social media platforms. Responsibilities also include creating promotional ads; marketing, dining and event materials; and other writing, editing and design work as needed. While the position is designed primarily to develop and lead internal communications between the Club and its members, the Communications Manager will also work with the General Manager, Membership Director, Director of Golf, Board of Directors, various Club Committees, club members or other staff as assigned to assist with internal and external marketing projects and public relations.
DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
Essential:
• Strong writing, editing, spelling, grammatical, graphic design and organizational skills are required.
• Must be proficient in PC, including Microsoft Office software.
• Must be proficient in Adobe Software; specifically Adobe Illustrator.
• Must have web content management experience; understanding of HTML is helpful.
• Familiarity maintaining social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
• Strong follow-up, attention to detail and accuracy are crucial.
• Must be effective at working cooperatively with peers and others in gathering and organizing information for dissemination and campaigns.
• Must be a self-starter and proactive.
• Ability to function independently, balance multiple priorities and work cooperatively in a flexible team environment is necessary.
• Ability to assist General Manager and Department Heads in organizing promotions and in implementing those plans is required; experience in public relations and paid media buying is helpful.
• Prior experience managing department or project budgets is helpful.
• Prior experience in internal communications is required, including demonstrated ability to gather information, write, edit, design and layout and manage the printing and/or production of paper, electronic and web-based publications.
• Experience in taking, editing and laying out photographs for print and electronic publications. Hire professional photographers as needed. Video shooting and editing skills are helpful.
• Supervise the development of, and report on, the club’s communication and marketing programs.
• Maintain the club management software, including upgrades and implementations; provide training for staff and members; maintain private and public websites.
• Oversee and support all departments in printed and digital material needs.
• Attend management and staff meetings, and club member committee meetings, as needed.
• Effectively respond to member comments in accordance with club standards, policies and rules; use ideas, feedback and suggestions to continuously improve the services provided to members.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
• Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all member information.
• Assist with administrative functions as needed, including answering the telephone and assisting callers.
• Complete other appropriate assignments as instructed by the general manager.
• Enforce all club policies at Park Meadows Country Club.
Marginal:
• Attend meetings as required by management.
• Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education and Experience:
• 4-year college degree preferred or industry training equivalent (preferably in communications, public relations, marketing or related field).
• Private Club or hospitality experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the following: communications, graphic design, web maintenance using content management systems, marketing, and administrative services.
Physical Requirements:
• Flexible and long hours, including weekends and holidays occasionally, required.
• Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to occasionally stand for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements:
