The golf course is looking pretty good after hydro-seeding last week and the first snowfall!
We're a group of Sun Peak residents who are shocked and horrified by a 22' berm being constructed by Talisker/Vail in our backyards without county review.

Officials from the County and representatives of the developer met with Voelker Court homeowners on Fairway 11 on Friday, October 28 to review the status of the construction and the updated plans for completion of this hole. As our newest photos show, the berm has been returned to approximately the pre-construction height last seen on August 26th. Walls of dirt have been removed. The grading plan, topo plan, and landscaping/revegetation plan will be revised and finalized and submitted to our land consultant, Doug Clyde, for review.
Voelker Court residents appreciate the community involvement and support we received in the media, the letters written to the County Council, the attendees that filled the auditorium at the October 12 County Council meeting appealing the grading permit, the many letters to the editor, and the Council members and staff who trudged through the quicksand like mud for over an hour on that windy snowy cold Monday to "see for themselves" and seek a resolution. Our sincere thank you to everyone -- especially Doug. Please Summit County, elect Doug Clyde 4 Summit County Council!!!!!

Our legal team tells us today's negotiation was positive, with a homeowner + developer meeting scheduled for Friday morning. In the last few days dirt removal has continued and we have started to see our beloved mountain views once again! Very grateful for all the support on this page, and from Kimberly, our land consultant Doug Clyde 4 Summit County Council, and our counsel who represented us. (Now go vote for Doug!!!)
The agenda for next week's County Council meeting does not include the continuation of the appeal of the grading permit. At this time, the developer has proposed a meeting with HOA counsel, to be facilitated by the County Manager. We will continue to update you. Thanks for the support!
Update! There was a group of about 20 -- homeowners, developer and County Council members -- who met this cold and snowy morning. Walking the muddy fairway gave the Council a first hand understanding of the serious impact on residents of Voelker Court in Sun Peak.
The Council has requested the developer to provide current grading plan and again emphasized importance of being a good neighbor.
Assuming all parties are available, and after requested documents have been received and analyzed by the Council, the continuation of the appeal should be on the agenda for October 26.
Thanks to the neighbors who came out this morning and for all your continued support!
There will be a County Council site meeting at hole 11 --- 9am, Monday 10/17. Anyone may attend. Convene at 4134 North Cooper Lane.
Update! In the last 48 hours some parts of the berm have indeed been lowered a few feet. However homeowners at the North end of the street have seen zero change in the height. On Monday morning County Council will come and tour the area. We hope the developers are finally being good neighbors, lowering the berm for all the right reasons... And not to make it "appear acceptable" for the site tour. Because none of this work was authorized under the 2011 low impact permit.
