I used to be such a people-pleaser. As a new manager, for example, I would go out of my way to solve everyone's problems.

I used to wear that as a badge of honor.

I was the manager who was always available, putting out everyone's fire, and being "the hero".

But as my guest Angela Davies shares in the latest episode of Unstuck...

Being in "hero mode" serves our ego.

We like to feel needed.

We like to feel important.

And we're also taking away the opportunity for others to grow, develop, and learn.

As leaders, we need to let others figure out how to solve their own problems.

This was an incredible conversation about motivation, people-pleasing, and prioritizing what's most important.

So grateful to Angela Davies for sharing her wisdom on the show! πŸ™

I was driving to the gym and saw this quote on a sign near a town park. On the way back, I pulled over to take a picture.

The truth in these words was so powerful that I felt compelled to share it with you.

There is truly no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don't care who gets the credit.

If you let go of needing to be right, to be praised, to be recognized, to be validated...

You can add limitless value to the world.

Please reshare if it resonates with you as well ❀️.

When I feel stuck, this one strategy has proven to work time and time again

Let's say I'm feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or anxious.

One of the best ways to break out of my spiral is to make a real human connection.

I don't mean send a text.

As my guest Angela Davies explains in this episode of Unstuck...

A short, 8-minute conversation can be all that we need to get back on track.

You don't need to spend an hour talking to someone you can't get off the phone, that's not what I mean πŸ˜†.

If you message someone saying, "Hey, you got 8 minutes to chat?"

You set the guidelines for the conversation, you connect, and you're able to move on with your day.

Loved this advice from Angela along with so much more wisdom she shared on the show.

We talked about motivation, people-pleasing, and how to prioritize what's most important.

It will be 1 year this Sunday since you took me to be your husband.

This year went fast...

But it's been an incredible first year of marriage.

We've taken trips together...

We bought an investment property together...

And most importantly...

We laughed together (a lot!).

There is no one I'd rather hang out with...

No one I'd rather spend time with...

No one that gets me the way you get me.

You support me in all my crazy ideas.

From writing my book...

To trying out new business ideas...

To experimenting with whatever trend I get excited about.

You always support me.

I'm so grateful to have you in my life, Alexandra.

Here's to many more years of sharing our lives together.

I love you, baby girl.

Happy Anniversary ❀️.

We just celebrated 200 episodes of "Unstuck"! In prepping for this episode, I realized how this podcast changed my mind on a lot of things. For example...

I used to think that meditation, or any type of "mental fitness", was more important than caring for the body.

To be resilient, I was confident that protecting your mind was more important than protecting your body.

After speaking to so many experts on this show and doing more research...

I realize now that I was wrong.

The body comes first.

You need to take care of the vessel.

Whether it's through quality sleep...

Eating the right food...

Or physical movement...

The body must be cared for.

Since the body and mind are so connected...

Caring for the body does wonders for the mind.

This 2-part series includes 10 things I was wrong about.

Episode 199: I go 10 through 6...

Episode 200: I share my top 5.

These 10 shifts I've made are common beliefs and perspectives that so many are getting wrong.

If you're looking to up your game when it comes to resilience, leadership, and communication...

These two episodes will cut through the noise and give you powerful insights.

P.S. - Grateful to our listeners who have joined us on this journey to 200. Thank you for your support, and I sincerely hope the podcast is giving you immense value πŸ™.

Speaking with Kate Gladdin on her podcast, "Okay, Now What?", she invited me to share the experience of losing my father.

I explained how difficult it was...

And in reflection...

How I wouldn't be where I am today if it weren't for that experience.

That loss is what led me down a path of growth, learning, and commitment to living a better life.

It's incredible how the hardest things in our lives can also be the source of what leads us to our greatest discoveries.

This conversation was deeply meaningful, and I'm grateful to Kate for having me on the show; I hope you'll check it out.

It's crazy that we just hit 200 episodes of Unstuck!

In prepping for this episode...

I realized how this podcast changed my mind on a lot of things.

One thing that I realized was this:

I don't have anything truly figured out lol.

What I mean is...

The incredible guests I've interviewed seem to have one thing in common:

They're curious.

While they do have knowledge and share what they know...

They don't claim to have it all figured out.

And when I tap into that mindset...

It feels so freeing.

I don't NEED to have it all figured out.

If I simply stay open, curious, and willing to learn...

I'll continue to grow.

I'm not sure what the next chapter of Unstuck will look like...

But I'm excited for what's to come.

This 2-part series published Friday and Monday includes 10 things I was wrong about.

You're always looking ahead...but how often do you look back, and acknowledge how far you've come?

I know for me...

I can easily fall into the pattern of just focusing on what I want to achieve next...

And forgetting all the wins I've had up to this moment.

It's great to look ahead and create a plan for achieving big goals.

I'm all for it.

My invitation to you is to balance that every so often by reminding yourself of what you've already accomplished.

You've come a long way, my friend.

Be confident in who you are not because of what you plan to achieve...

But because of what you've already achieved.

You ever feel so stuck in your career that you don't have any good choices?

My guest JM Ryerson talked about this on the latest episode of "Unstuck".

While he empathizes with that feeling, he also takes a strong position on this:

You always have a choice.

You choose to go to work everyday.

You choose the job that pays your bills.

And...

You can make a different choice.

I know it's not easy, but it is within your power.

Never fall into the victim mindset and tell yourself "I don't have a choice".

You always have a choice.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, this is a conversation worth listening to.
