The 2026 Chaparral Freshman Wolverines (12-6) won the Continental League Freshman Tournament consolation bracket in dramatic fashion last Friday 5/15, beating Mountain Vista 8-4 in Castle Rock.

Though Chaparral dropped a hard-fought contest to Rock Canyon, 6-4 in Thursday’s game, the Wolverines emerged victorious 8-4 in Friday’s contest vs. Mountain Vista, when Declan Cunningham blasted a grand slam in the fifth inning to seal the 8-4 victory. Though the ball sailed over the centerfield wall, Vista won an appeal that the umpire could not see if Cunningham touched home plate in the mob of red-clad Wolverine teammates.

Officially, Cunningham’s homer was changed to a triple, but was still good for 3 RBIs, and an 8-4 lead that Vista was never able to overcome, and officially, will live on as a legendary moment in the hearts and minds of the 2026 Chaparral Freshman Wolverine players, coaches, and parents.

Varsity Regionals 📸

The Chaparral JV Wolverines wrapped up their season Thursday night against Legend. Chaparral came out strong, getting on the board first in the second inning with an exciting steal of home.

Keaton Ray led the Wolverines offensively with two hits in two at-bats, while Quinn Vogel and Geno Ruiz each added an RBI. Vogel also started on the mound for Chaparral. Legend used a big fourth inning to pull away and secure the win, but the Wolverines continued to compete until the final out.

Proud of this team for their effort, growth, and dedication throughout the season. Thank you to our coaches, players, and families for an incredible year. Go Wolverines! ⚾💙

The Varsity season came to an end today. All of you should be very proud of the season, what you accomplished together, and how you played throughout the year.

Thank you, Seniors, for four years of dedication to this program! We know you will continue to do amazing things in the years ahead. Once a Wolverine, always a Wolverine. ❤️💙

Starting at 4pm!

The Wolverines ran away with the win over Vista PEAK Prep this morning! Beckett Bacon struck out 11 batters, hit two home runs, and drove in three runs. The team had 16 hits. An outstanding performance.

Next up is the Region 4 Championship at approximately 3:30pm at Regis Jesuit.
