The Stow Bulldogs are headed back to States! Every season it’s the ultimate goal and a huge accomplishment! Very proud of the team and even after a rocky start kept there heads in the game and chipped away game after game, shot after shot. It’s been a wild ride so why not keep it going a little while longer all the way to Columbus! Saturday March 11th, Wayne Webbs Columbus Bowl!

Yesterdays match was against Cuyahoga Falls but more importantly it was also Senior Night. Tyler, Luke and Michael all 4 year bowlers! Can’t thank you each enough for the all the time and effort you’ve given the team. You each may be headed on different paths after high school but you’ll always have the lasting memories and the team wishes you each nothing but the best!

The varsity boys were able to grind out the win against Cuyahoga Falls and improve to 8-2 on the season. We finish out our regular season on Monday vs. Tallmadge @ Kent Lanes then lastly Wednesday @ Hudson (Northwoods).

JV boys had their highest bowled match of the season! Unfortunately it did not result in a win but strides are being made and it’s great to see the hard work paying off!

It’s been quite a few weeks for the boys since winter break. Here’s a timeline along with some highlights.

Wed Jan 4: Our first match off break was unfortunately varsity’s first loss against North Royalton. Wasn’t our day and North Royalton really bowled great. JV was victorious to keep there undefeated season. Ethan Gealy with a 460 series, Dominic Cochran 396 series and Tyler Hall with a 208 game.

Sat Jan 7: Varsity tournament: Clutch Classic
As good as the boys bowled there was a lot of good teams also bowling great which resulted in a 3rd place team finish. Dillon Lazer with a 674 series (Career high series).

Wed Jan 11: Home Match vs Wadsworth. In a close match throughout the boys pulled the win in one of our closest matches of the season but our closest was yet to come……. Luke Bovard with the high varsity series with a 415. JV continued their winning streak with a 404 series by Dominic Cochran, 347 series by Joey Cserynik and a 177 game by David Neubauer (career high game).

Fri Jan 13: Home Match vs Nordonia. Always one of the biggest matches of the season. In a high scoring match the boys persevered 2697 - 2691 with senior Michael Stein sparing in the 10th to seal the win. Michaels 483 series and 279 game were both career highs. Dillon Lazer was also huge in the victory with a 439 series and great baker play. JV suffered there first loss of the season losing by 85 pins. Jacob Newell had a 176 (season high) and Dillin Rogers 164 game (season high).

Sat Jan 14: Sectional Preview Tournament @ Spins Kent. Boys bowled very well once again but came up a little short to Nordonia and earned 2nd place. Adam Walters earned all tournament team honors with a 671 series, Ethan Gealy with a 235 and Ian Barter with a 587 series and 214 game (All career highs). Shoutout to Noah Brown and Tyler Hall being team players and always keeping the morale as high as possible or should I say as high as Ian can jump!

Sat Jan 14: JV Panther Challenge tournament. Only 5 bowlers were able to attend but they held their own. Brendan Ogrin with a 201 game and 488 series (Career highs). Zach Ray with a career high 185 game, Dillin Rogers 381 series and Jacob Newell 450 series.

In summary: Both teams are bowling solid and are only continuing to improve as the season goes on. We have 5 more matches to go in the regular season with a couple tournaments sprinkled in before the Suburban League Postseason Tournament then Sectionals. Varsity sits at 6-1 and JV 4-1.

Stow Boys finished 3rd/4th in todays tournament @ Stonehedge. Cut was top 8 teams for bracketed matchplay. After qualifying the boys were seeded 3rd. First round of matchplay bowled the 6 seed Highland. The boys won 2-0 and bowled the 2 seed Perry in the semifinals. After a tough fought 3 game set Perry came out on top to end Stows tournament. Proud of the boys of how they battled to the end on a not so easy oil pattern. We will move onto our next competition which is an away match @ North Royalton on Wednesday 1/4!
