Our next Senior Spotlight is Mascot Captain Esme!
After two years on the Squad, Esme will graduate with a degree in Sociology. After graduation, she will be attending James Madison University for graduate school and working as a Graduate Assistant in Aquatics. When asked what she’ll miss most, Esme shared “Being in suit and interacting with fans was such a meaningful experience. Being able to bring smiles to people’s faces and become a small part of their memories connected to UCLA are moments I’ll always be proud of.”

Our next Senior Spotlight is our Dance Captain Jen!
After four years on the Dance Team, Jen will graduate with a degree in Communications and a minor in Public Affairs. After graduation, Jen will be studying for the LSAT (with plans to eventually go to law school) and continuing her dance career as a member of the Raiderettes! Jen’s favorite memories from her tenure on the Squad were “my first ever football game at the Rose Bowl and winning the Women’s Basketball National Championship game my senior year. Both were moments that made me realize I live the dream life.”

In our next Senior Spotlight we celebrate our Cheer Captain Steven!
After two years on the Cheer Squad, Steven will graduate with a degree in Psychobiology. After graduation he plans to study for the MCAT and eventually apply to medical school. When asked what he’ll miss most about the Squad, Steven shared, “The opportunity to go on travel trips! All of my trips have been super fun, and they’re such an amazing opportunity to get to know the people you are traveling with on a deeper level. Also, fun fact, I had not traveled to another state before being on the Spirit Squad, so I’m definitely grateful for these opportunities.”

Our next Senior Spotlight is Adam!
After three years on the Squad, Adam will graduate with a degree in Political Science. After graduation, he plans to continue working in sports, including his current role with the Ontario Reign. When asked about his favorite memory from his time on the Squad, Adam shared “Every single game. Every game is another chance for me to perform and represent my Alma Mater. I take pride in being one of the first people in my hometown to attend UCLA, and engaging with audiences and cheering on my peers in their respective sports on behalf of the university has been a dream come true!”

The next Senior Spotlight is our Dance Captain Kaili!
After three years on the Dance Team, Kaili will graduate with a degree in Computational Biology and a minor in Public Health. After graduation, Kaili will move to New York City to pursue a role in Pfizer’s Digital and Technology Rotational Program. When reflecting on her favorite memories from her time on the Squad, Kaili shared “Getting to not only cheer for, but also dance alongside our Women’s Basketball team has been one of the biggest highlights during my time on the squad. Witnessing their historic win while being able to get to know our team more personally this year was so special. Watching confetti fall for so many incredible moments including the Penn State game, the B1G tournament, and the national championship made this year all the more incredible.”

In our next Senior Spotlight, we celebrate Ryan!
After three years on the Squad, Ryan will graduate with a double major in History and Political Science. After graduation, Ryan plans to move to DC to work in politics and public service. For Ryan, “I have had so many amazing memories while being on the Spirit Squad. From amazing travel trips like LSU and incredible upsets against Penn State. While I have made incredible memories with so many members on the squad, by far my favorite memory was the Women’s Basketball National Championship in Phoenix this last year. It was so incredible to watch our women’s team win the championship and celebrate their outstanding talent and character. I will always cherish the memories I made with the travel squad and remember the excitement of celebrating our amazing Women’s Basketball team!”

After one year on the Squad, Meileen will graduate with a degree in Human Biology & Society with plans to pursue a career in healthcare. For Meileen, “My favorite memory of being on the Spirit Squad is traveling to Phoenix, AZ for the Women’s Basketball Final Four and winning the national championship!”

In our next Senior Spotlight, we celebrate Makena!
After three years on the Dance Team, Makena will graduate with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Digital Humanities. After graduation, she plans on getting her California Real Estate license while also working at Southern California Attorneys in Calabasas. When reflecting on her favorite memories from her time on the Squad, Makena shared “cheering at the Women’s Basketball National Championship game, the Penn State Football game at the Rose Bowl, and the Illinois game buzzer win for our Men’s Basketball team. The National Championship game was so surreal and inspiring to watch. The Penn State game will forever be ingrained in my head because of the blue and yellow confetti that filled the Rose Bowl. And the Illinois basketball game was insane because we won within the final seconds in the 4th quarter.”

After one year on the Squad, Pranav will graduate with a degree in Psychobiology. After graduation, Pranav plans to take a gap year before going to medical school. His favorite memories from his time on the Squad are “movie nights with his team during C Sesh.”

After one year on the Cheer Squad, Jaiden will graduate with a degree in Architecture. After graduation, Jaiden plans to stay in Los Angeles and pursue a career in marketing. When asked what she’ll miss most from her time on the Squad, Jaiden shared “I will miss game days at the Rose Bowl and in Pauley. From beating Penn State during football season and Purdue during basketball season, it was incredible getting to cheer during such exciting games with all of my friends!”
