Those of us in the Kundalini-Yoga-world have known for quite some time that some ground work needs to be done to clear the field for new understanding of “what’s what.”
Join me for a rare and wonderful opportunity on Sunday to begin at the start of the system called Shabd Kriya Yoga, the Sikh lineage tradition from which Kundalini Yoga came.
Learning the introductory, or Preparatory Practices practitioners will be introduced to specific, centering, devotional and eye opening sequences. As shared by Guvinder Singh this path is "a simple and direct way for humans to embody the experience of light and sound, as a manifestation of Primordial Awareness."

Kundalini KRIYA YOGA! ONE HOUR practice on SUNDAY morning - 9:00am PT / Noon ET
Sunday is governed by fire + water, the Pitta Dosha, and Sun energy
On this day yoga practices which increase our vibrant qualities are wonderful.
But …. we also need to be cautious around our fire energy! In the Summer, being outside, biking, hiking, gardening, dancing, are all heaven on earth, but we don't want to burn out mid-season. It’s good not to overload on foods and drinks that are heating, like hot sauce.
And energetically, it’s good not to spend more than you can create. Watching over your yoga practice in the Summer months is about learning to conserve your Shakti! As we burst into the bright days, Yogis can release old stagnancies and melt away old emotions and concepts. But the Summer energy can also help you learn how to watch over, and balance the tides of experiences in the body, mind and spirit!
So.... what does a great Summer Yoga practice feel like for you? Let’s ask:
What takes you toward meditation?
Is your inner state light and stable?
Is the flow of your breath even?
Do your movements feel smooth and continuous?
How do you feel in your heart?
How freely does the Prana, the life-breath-energy move?

Gurupurnima, July 21, 2024
On this day, the full moon has deep significance. It is the day to thank your Guru, the pure light along your path, even when every direction shows darkness.
If you do not know if you have a Guru, that is ok. Your prayers and gratitude may be expressed from the lotus of your heart!
On this special day we thank the true Gurus, the knowledge-givers and Light-holders, the wise Sages, enlightened Rishis, Shamans, renunciate Monks, loving Mothers, true Teachers, awakened scholars, Rabbis, celestial beings and venerable Lamas who have offered us immeasurable life times of spiritual protection and shelter.
Would you like to celebrate?

Tomorrow marks the anniversary of Mahasiddha Virupa's profound realization.
Born into a royal family in eastern India, Virupa entered the Nalanda monastery, where he excelled in the study of Sutra teachings before delving into Ta**ra practices and attaining high realizations. To disseminate and promote the profound teachings he received from human teachers and deities such as Nairatmaya, Virupa employed magical abilities and extraordinary methods to captivate and instruct disciples, including the famed master, Dombi Heruka. Virupa is counted as one of the 84 Mahasidhas and lineage gurus of the Lamdre teaching in the Tibetan Sakya tradition.
There are many tales of Virupa’s remarkable feats, such as the well-known story of Virupa halting the sun's movement to prolong his indulgence in drinking. In this work, Virupa’s gesture—a raised hand with a finger pointing up to the sun—refers to this episode. Virupa was on an epic drinking spree and agreed with the tavern proprietor to settle the bill at sunset. He then used his great meditative powers to stop the sun in its course until after several days without night the local ruler, fearful of a possible drought, paid his tab.

It’s not just that plant-based medicine is becoming important again. It is not just that natural medicine is gaining acceptance and the public is more open than ever to cleaner medical alternatives.
It is that health-based medicine is what we need! We will not be able to get anywhere, we will not see our way to a thriving community of immune system empowered adults through chemical, big-pharma produced prescriptions, many of which are one step away from bio-weapons themselves.
There are two basic types of medical care:
Authority-based medicine expects to find docile patients who often feel like victims because of their diagnosis. This kind of patient still wants to be told what to do in order to feel emotionally more relaxed, and may pay lip service to self responsibility, but is basically waiting for their doctor's instructions to follow.
The second kind of medical care is consciousness-based and patients are encouraged to participate in and even to drive their own recovery. Taking heath care into their own hands often sparks an inner re-visioning of life's purpose.
For the second kind of medical care, Yoga Therapy is amazingly potent. Postures are physicalizations, symbolic of freedom in the body and mind!
Using postures and breath creates leverage ( and positive pressure ) in the body as internal energies are opened up. Then, the pace and strength of the healing process come from the patient or client themselves, because things can happen in the right way at the right time!
