MEETING REMINDER - April 23rd

Our next meeting is on Thursday, April 23rd at 6:30 in the Griggs-Pasco training room. Our speaker will be Tony Fisher, FCO Fishers Catch Outfitters LLC. Tony is probably the best known guide in our region. Tony and his crew guide for walleye, sturgeon, salmon, and steelhead. I’m sure many of us have fished with Tony in the past. His topic will be “Do’s and Don’ts of Safe Night Fishing”. Tony will also offer some tips on fishing at Boardman for next outing on May 9th.

We expect a large crowd, so the club has purchased some extra chairs to accommodate you. Hopefully, everyone can find a seat!

As always, there will be a raffle table with lots of great equipment for our members. Make sure to buy a few tickets.

It’s not too late to renew your membership for 2026. $30 cash or check. Today, access to our private group page was revoked for those who have not renewed. Once you renew, you can request access again.

We hope to see you at the meeting!

Tight lines!

Jerry and Ivan Reyes, Flatout Fishing, packed the house last night! About 74 members and many guests meant it was standing room only! Jerry’s topic was winter walleye jigging. He showed us his preferred rods, lines, and jigs. They also shared a lot of pointers on presentation, the depths (and a few locations) of where they have been catching fish, and the importance of boat control.
Our members thoroughly enjoyed the presentation, asked lots of questions, and went away with a better understanding of jigging. Thanks, Flatout Fishing crew for a very enjoyable and informative evening!

Our next meeting is on Thursday, February 26th at 6:30 pm in the Griggs-Pasco training room. Craig will have updates on our first scheduled outing at Hood Park (March 14th) and other upcoming events. Following our business meeting, our guest speaker will be Jerry Reyes, owner of Flatout Fishing. Jerry will be talking about winter and spring jigging techniques. Jigging is one of the most productive ways to catch winter walleye if you do it right!

We picked up 21 new members at the 2026 Sportsmen Show! Welcome to the club! However, we still have a lot of members who have not renewed their memberships for 2026. Please do so before April 15th to avoid losing access to the Facebook group and our WAU newsletter.

Reminder - Make sure to check in at the desk when you arrive at the meeting. For every club meeting or event you attend, you get an extra ticket for the drawing for the fishing trip at our December meeting!

Don’t forget to buy a few tickets for the raffle table prizes. Buy as many tickets as you want but only one winning ticket per membership.

Thanks to all of our members who are posting photos and tips from your fishing trips. The mild winter has made fishing a lot more comfortable and you have proven that the fish are out there if you get off the couch!

See you at the meeting!

About 35 of our members came to our monthly meeting to hear Ross Carrigan, Carrigan Custom Lures, talk about his passion for painting lures to help his clients catch more fish. Lots of questions were answered and lots of Ross’s creations were on display. Johnny Bennett was the lucky winner that picked Ross’s contribution from the raffle table. If you’re interested in purchasing some of his lures or want to have Ross create one especially for you, send him a message on his page!

🙏 Thank you to everyone who has stopped by to check out our store over the past couple of weeks. Yesterday’s Grand Opening Sale was a fantastic success, and we are truly blessed to be part of such a supportive community.

A huge thank you as well to our family and friends who helped us bring this vision to life—we couldn’t have done it without you! 💙
