Sequim High Cross Country - 2017

A brand new year for the Sequim High XC Team. We held our spring pizza party/Team kickoff meeting last night, a great showing with 23 runners overall,

Morgan was a star on our team and continues to light things up. Definitely a young woman destined for greatness.

This happens every year - we have our final meet and party and then "NOTHING." I hate going through XC withdrawals. I get off work every afternoon and have to force my car to turn left for home rather than right for school. All of you play a major role in my life and this letting go is really difficult every single year. For me, I would love XC to be a year round sport. Please get healthy (all those nagging aches and pains) and don't let your conditioning slip away. Find time to put in some running multiple times per week. I'm not suggesting you limit that to staying in shape for high school XC and/or track - it should be a key activity for the rest of your life. I'm 68 and running has been central to my routine since I was in grade school. It works - you'll be healthier, have more energy, and it will keep your weight in check and your heart cranking right along. If not before, I will see all of you at the spring XC meeting at Coach Huff's house. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and great Christmas Holiday.

END OF SEASON CELEBRATION
All of you need to wash your XC uniforms and put them in a plastic bag with your name on it and bring it to the party. Please don’t forget as the uniforms are expensive and if we don’t get them back you can’t get your grades until you pay for the uniform – why would you want to buy a XC uniform when we’ll be lending one to you again next year?

Please send me a note voting for one boy and one girl that gave the most to the team. Not asking who won the most races though that certainly wouldn’t disqualify anyone from the award. We’re looking to see who you believe showed the most team spirit, the most commitment, the best attitude, the hardest work, all wrapped into one. Please send your choice for one boy and one girl that best meet those criteria to: [email protected]
Your vote counts, this is a team election so please send an email back. I’ve only received two votes so far.

One last time for the details on the celebration this Friday, November 10: It will be a pizza party at Coach Huff’s house starting at 6:00 PM. There will be some awards and hopefully a slide show of our season.
