(A cautionary tale that doesn’t make you wrong, just smarter.)

Let me say this first:

✨ If your funnel works sometimes…
✨ If new people show up, but never seem to buy…
✨ If your “evergreen offer” still depends on you going live or dropping stories every week...

You’re not behind.
You’re not broken.
You’re just doing what most of us were told to do.

And I know that because I made the same mistake.

Here’s what I did when I first “went evergreen”:
✔ Took my launch replays and stuck them behind an opt-in
✔ Automated the sales sequence
✔ Kept the countdown timer because “urgency” sells
✔ Told myself: “Now I just need traffic!”

So I hired help. Ran ads. Tweaked the tech.

...And watched my funnel work for three days.

After that? Crickets.

Unless I went back into launch mode—or sold something new.

The biggest mistake I made when I first went “evergreen”?

I thought I could take my launch content, set it on automation, and boom—freedom.

Instead, I built a funnel that acted exactly like a launch… just slower.
⚠️ It sold fast the first few days.
⚠️ Then it stalled.
⚠️ And unless I showed up to push it forward… it just sat there.

12 months ago, I had finally done the damn thing.
I built the funnel.
Hooked up the tech.
Wrote the emails.
Ran the ads.
And waited for the sales to roll in.

It was supposed to be my freedom plan.

But instead of waking up to Stripe dings…
I woke up refreshing my stats like it was launch week.

Instead of peace of mind…
I had a packed story calendar, a bonus stack on life support, and a growing feeling of “WTF am I missing?”

I kept telling myself:
