Pawtucket Firefighters Local 1261 understands and appreciates that the city council plays a vital role when it comes to how this city moves forward. We believe the following At-large candidates share our concerns regarding the city’s public safety challenges. These candidates also posses a willingness to work collaboratively with us to find ways to better serve the residents of this city. We believe they are not persuaded by inside or outside influence. Their continued support for public safety will undoubtedly be welcomed by the members of this local and provide a bright future for the City of Pawtucket and its residents.

Come this Tuesday on Election Day we suggest casting votes for the flowing candidates…

Vic Mellor is running for Congress representing the 2nd District of RI and he’s saying there’s no war in Iran, and gas prices are high because Ukraine bombed Diesel refineries in Russia. Wow you can almost taste the in him. What a joke 😂

🚨 CHRIS COCKS… WHAT PAWTUCKET ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? 🤨
Hasbro CEO Chris C***s recently explained to WBUR why Boston is a better fit for the company than Pawtucket. But some of his comments about our city were disappointing, to say the least.

🍽️ Not enough places to eat? Pawtucket has fantastic restaurants offering everything from Italian and Portuguese to Cape Verdean, Mexican, Afro-Caribbean, West African American and much more! Some are right along Newport Avenue, where Hasbro’s headquarters sits!

🍻 Nowhere to hang out after work? Really? Our city has restaurants, pubs, breweries, live entertainment, and plenty of places to socialize. Maybe they’re not your preference, Chris, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist! Also, like you’re really going out after work and hanging with your colleagues. Riiiight! 🤨

🚗 And Uber Eats takes 40 minutes, leaving your food cold? Come on now! Where exactly are you ordering from? Also a 40 minute order doesn’t mean 40 minutes of travel, and without actual delivery data, that’s a pretty unfair picture to paint.

💙 HERE’S MY BIGGEST ISSUE…

Hasbro has every right to move to Boston. That’s a business decision. That to me sounds like they were leaving come hell or high water. But after more than 100 years in Pawtucket, you’d think its CEO could show a little more respect for the city and the hardworking small business owners who help keep it going.

Pawtucket isn’t perfect. We know that better than anyone. But we’re not going to sit quietly while someone Harvard soft serve, paints our city as a place with nothing to offer.

🚨 WARWICK RANKED #2 SAFEST CITY IN AMERICA… BUT THERE'S SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW!

You may have seen the headlines celebrating Warwick as the second-safest city in the country. 👏 And that's certainly something worth recognizing.

But here's what those headlines might not tell you…

🔎 Only 182 U.S. cities were evaluated! Pawtucket wasn't even included in the study.

Meanwhile, did you know that Pawtucket ranks among the TOP 3% nationally for diversity, the TOP 16% for access, and the TOP 22% for growth in other national studies? 🤯

Those are some impressive numbers that aren't getting nearly as much attention!

So, are national city rankings telling us the whole story? Or are we sometimes comparing apples to oranges? 🍎🍊
