What actually happens:
• Fat loss occurs when your body burns stored fat for energy through a calorie deficit.
• Muscle gain occurs when resistance training stimulates muscle fibers and your body builds new muscle tissue using protein and calories.
You can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time (body recomposition), especially if:
• You lift consistently
• You eat enough protein
• You manage calories properly
• You recover well
That overlap is why people think fat “turns into” muscle, but biologically, one never converts into the other.
