it’s all ready for the 20 minute drive to Lake Peachtree! Everything on board - a regatta on four wheels! Seating for two sailors (my visiting son and myself),three boats (the third is a loaner for someone who will meet us at the lake), four marks to toss into the lake to set the course, a 10’ launcher, starter, tool chest with extra batteries and parts, a cooler with cold water and a tall foldable stool for my tired butt.
The recent drought has dried up Turtle Pond forcing us to sail at Lake Peachtree, one of the three lakes in the city. This video was last Saturday. We will sail again this coming Saturday, the 29th at 11:00. Come watch if you like.
We had a great day of sailing last Sunday. There was a great turnout and good winds. It happened to also be Cinco de Mayo. To pay tribute, we had a special race:😁😁😁😁

We had the pleasure of two new sailors with us last Sunday. they are Larry and Nick, father and son. Nick, the son, lives locally and just bought his own boat. His father Larry lives further away but hopefully can join us often. He used one of my loaner boats. Both have experience with big sailboat sailing and RC airplanes, but none with RC sailboats. Nonetheless they took to it very well. They are a very welcome addition to TPMYC.

I was asked to include this article for a young man as part of getting a merit badge from his boy scout troop. With both my son and grandson being Eagle Scouts, I heartily agreed to add it to our Facebook site. All of us need to be supportive of young people in positive activities. Please read and comment:
Hobbies on The Water: RC Boating | HMY Yachts Remotely controlling models can be exciting. Some people are satisfied just controlling cars, planes, or boats…
A beautiful fall day brought some Turtle Pond club members out for a very enjoyable day of sailing:

We had a great day of sailing on Sunday. A full pond and strong winds made it an enjoyable day of sailing.
We are an RC sailing club that races at Turtle Pond on the south side of Peachtree City. We actively seek new members for our club. We have plenty of loaner boats for those who want to try out RC sailing. We also have a number of new and used boats for sale at very reasonable prices.
For any questions use email [email protected] or call or text 678 571 4552.

A beautiful fall day found eight of us sailing at Turtle Pond.
Though, at first, the winds were erratic, toward the last it strengthened and became stronger and more consistent.
Let’s hope the cooler temperatures and better winds typical of fall will bring more of our sailors back after a rough couple of months.
Many thanks to our commuters, Paul and Kevin, for taking the time to travel here to sail.
This coming weekend’s forecast shows another cool sunny weekend. Stand by for the call for the time and day.
Scott said he approached a couple of people at his RC airplane club about joining us. Please spread the word about our club to your club members and associates.
I have three new to almost brand new boats to sell to newcomers.
