Hello Professionals,
USTA Southern, USTA GA and USTA Atlanta are working together to host a Parks and Recreation Tennis Professional training day.
This event will take place at Fair Oaks Tennis Center on September 10th from 11am to 1pm. Darren Potkey Executive Director-(USTA GA) has offered to sponsor the event with providing lunch. We will also have giveaways during the event, and continuing education credit for USPTA and PTR.
The training is focused on beginner players (since we have so many of them during the pandemic) and how to get them on the court, learning and having fun, and then plugged in to USTA programming. Allan Jensen, Claire Bartlett and Harrison O’Keefe will be the training facilitators.
USTA Atlanta will be offering the pros the opportunity to add hours to their schedule by hosting Tennis Apprentice at their Park as well as going over how to form teams for adults and juniors.

Hello GPTA Tennis Professionals! The ATLANTA YOUTH TENNIS AND EDUCATION FOUNDATION-(AYTEF) is looking for a certified teaching professional. Please see job description details below:
AYTEF is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that aims to ENRICH the lives of under-resourced youth through tennis and education. We SERVE through sport so that our youth participants can ACHIEVE without limit on the court, in the classroom, and in life.
Position Title/Compensation: Tennis Instructor AYTEF is searching for a Tennis Instructor to teach on-court drills and clinics for our GameSetMatch program as well as our Tennis in the Park and Block Party events. The Tennis Instructor will be a part time employee of AYTEF. The hourly rate of pay ranges between $25 - $35 based on certification and/or experience level. Start Date: 8/2/2021 Schedule (generally regular but subject to change for make-ups due to weather): Mondays/Wednesdays from 4:30-7:00 p.m. The second Friday of each month from 5:00-6:00 p.m. The last Friday of each month from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Program Information: GameSetMatch is a tennis clinic for beginner to intermediate youth tennis players on Monday and Wednesday afternoons throughout the year. Participants in grades K-3 attend from 4:30-5:45 p.m., and participants in grades 4-8 attend from 5:45-7:00 p.m.
The Tennis Instructor will join a team of AYTEF staff who run GameSetMatch and include the Director of Tennis, the Program Coordinator who teaches life-skills curriculum in every session, and the Director of Education who coordinates off-court academic tutoring. Tennis in the Park is a free tennis clinic for the purposes of community outreach and inclusion and occurs the second Friday of each month from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
The AYTEF Block Party is a community outreach tennis clinic with on-court and off-court games, food, music, and prizes and occurs the last Friday of each month from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Facility Information:
All AYTEF programs are located at Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Marietta, GA. Fair Oaks has 12 lighted hard courts and a pro-shop building. The address is 1460 West Booth Road Ext. SW, Marietta, GA 30008.
Qualifications: -Strong tennis skills -Consistent tennis instruction experience of three years or more is preferred -An understanding of current tennis instructional trends and USTA initiatives as related to youth tennis players -Experienced in Junior coaching, especially in the red and orange ball groups -Passion for improving the live of under-resourced and at-risk children -Excellent people and communication skills -Punctual, professional, and strong organizational skills -Ability to connect with participants and families both on and off the court -Team player that has the desire and ability to work with youth participants at various skill levels -High school diploma or GED -Possess and maintain tennis certification from PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) and/or -USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) -Ability to teach in an outdoor setting with varying weather conditions -Self-motivated to grow programming and creatively engage with the community at large Safe Play Certification and Mandatory Background Check: As a United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) organization, all adult AYTEF staff and volunteers who have regular contact with or authority over minor athletes must complete an education course from the U.S. Center for SafeSport, read and acknowledge the USTA Safe Play Policy, and complete a background screen application. SafeSport certification and background screening are free of charge for AYTEF staff and volunteers. ALTA is offering a pilot program AA level league for 16 and 17 year old high level juniors beginning with this FALL. Registration ends July 22nd but Juniors can be added after registration per ALTA add on roster rules.
Pros and Coaches please get the word out to your high level junior players about this new pilot program which will offer high level doubles competition for your juniors at the AA level. Also provides an opportunity for potential Father/Son Doubles and for Coach/Student Doubles on the same AA ALTA Team!
