Mississippi Heavyweight Kashaun “Big Baby” Davis Heads to Madison Square Garden

Pearl Boxing Club’s Undefeated Heavyweight to Compete on Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing Card

PEARL, Miss. — From a small boxing gym in Pearl, Mississippi, to one of the most iconic venues in sports, undefeated heavyweight Kashaun “Big Baby” Davis is preparing for the biggest fight of his professional career.

On July 26, Davis will represent Mississippi on the Zuffa Boxing card at Madison Square Garden in New York, competing under the new promotion led by Dana White and TKO Group Holdings. Davis signed with Zuffa Boxing earlier this year after building an undefeated professional record highlighted by an impressive string of knockout victories.

Behind every successful fighter is a great coach, and for Davis that coach is Deshone “Bombay” Higginbottom.

Higginbottom has spent years building Pearl Boxing Club into one of Mississippi’s premier amateur and professional boxing programs, transforming an old Pearl High School locker room into a gym that has produced state champions, national champions, and now one of the country’s fastest-rising heavyweight prospects.

“This isn’t just Kashaun’s story,” said Coach Bombay Higginbottom. “This is a story about what can happen when young people are given discipline, opportunity, and someone who believes in them.”

More importantly, Coach John genuinely cares about his fighters. He takes care of his athletes, invests in their success, and is always willing to give his time, knowledge, and encouragement to help others reach their goals. Because of that, he is respected and looked up to by so many both inside and outside the gym.

We are grateful to have him as part of the Pearl Boxing Club family and appreciate everything he does for our fighters and our community.
