⚾️❤️ ONCE A RED, ALWAYS A RED! ❤️⚾️
We have to give a HUGE shoutout to two of our former Reds, C**ton and Weston Searle, who competed at the Marucci Elite CTX Scout Day this past weekend!
We sure do miss having these two in a Reds uniform, but we absolutely LOVE getting to watch them continue to grow, develop and put in the work. Seeing that hard work recognized at a scout event makes us incredibly proud. ❤️⚾️
C**ton earned praise for his smooth defense at 1B, soft hands, footwork and overall feel for the position, along with his ability as a left-handed hitter to stay through the middle of the field. On the mound, he was clocked at 67 MPH, with an above-average curveball spin rate. 👀🔥
Weston was recognized for his athleticism and quality actions in the outfield, including his quickness, footwork and arm strength. His arm work was present up to 70 MPH, pitch clocked at 65 MPH, and at the plate scouts noted his balanced stance and direct path to the zone. 💪⚾️
But what we love most about their evaluations is what was said about BOTH boys: solid foundations with plenty of room to continue growing as they mature.
That’s what it’s all about at this age. Keep working. Keep developing. Keep getting stronger. And keep loving the game.
We were lucky enough to have these boys as part of our Reds family, and even though life moved them away from us, we’ll always be cheering for them from Houston.
Congratulations, C**ton & Weston! Keep grinding, boys. We can’t wait to see where baseball takes you next. ❤️⚾️
