Gracie Game Day for Citizenship is happening in two weeks at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Pearland!

Junior Grapplers (Ages 7–12) 📅 Friday, September 11 ⏰ 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Little Champs (Ages 5–7) 📅 Saturday, September 12 ⏰ 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Each Game Day will take place during the regularly scheduled class time and follow our usual one-hour format.

What an unforgettable weekend!

We were honored to host a Promotions Day at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Pearland, beginning with an outstanding seminar from World Champion competitor .

We then had the privilege of recognizing the hard work of our students by awarding three Gracie Combatives Belts, one Blue Belt, several blue belt stripes, and our gym's very first Women Empowered Pink Belt.

The Women Empowered Pink Belt represents much more than progress in jiu-jitsu. It symbolizes the confidence to set boundaries, the awareness to recognize danger before it escalates, and the ability to defend oneself if avoidance is no longer an option. It's a powerful reminder that jiu-jitsu changes lives—not just by teaching techniques, but by empowering people with confidence and resilience.

🥋 Massive congratulations to David on earning his white‑yellow belt! As one of our longest‑running students, he’s put in the time, the sweat, and the heart.

Today he rolled with the instructor, stayed calm under pressure, and secured the submission with a clean rear naked choke. That composure and technique is exactly why his progress means so much.

Last week we said “goodbye for now” to a family that became a huge part of our gym community. The Applewhite family has moved to Quantico, Virginia, where Aaron will attend the Expeditionary Warfare School at the Marine Corps University as he continues his mission to serve and protect our nation.

In their 18 months with us, the Applewhites made an unforgettable impact. Aaron stepped up as an assistant instructor in nearly every Junior Grappler class, their three kiddos climbed from white to white‑yellow belt, and Aaron himself earned his Gracie Combatives belt.

We will miss them dearly, but we’re incredibly proud of their journey and excited for what comes next. Once part of the Gracie Jiu‑Jitsu Pearland family, always part of the family. 🇺🇸💗

Last week we celebrated Sophie & Thiago, two of our Mat Munchkins who earned their very first stripe! This is one of the most exciting steps in their journey. At this stage, it’s not just about techniques… it’s about building confidence, learning how to listen, developing coordination, and having FUN on the mats.
Our Mat Munchkins program is a weekly 30-min class designed to give these little ones a positive first experience with Jiu-Jitsu through games, movement, and simple self-defense concepts, all while reinforcing respect and focus.
We’re so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see them keep growing!
