Recovery matters just as much as practice during summer softball.
Between games:
✅ Refuel
✅ Hydrate
✅ Cool down
✅ Mentally reset
What athletes SHOULD NOT do:
❌ Swing nonstop for two hours between games
❌ Stay in the sun all day
❌ Ignore fatigue
The goal is to feel fresh enough to compete late in the weekend — not just early Saturday morning.

Summer heat changes everything.
Hydration affects:
- Energy
- Focus
- Reaction time
- Recovery
- Confidence
A dehydrated athlete will almost always look slower mentally and physically.
Start hydrating BEFORE tournament weekends — not during the third game on Saturday.

One thing I always tell hitters during summer season:
Don’t just play games all summer without developing.
Games expose weaknesses.
Practice is what improves them.
The athletes who make the biggest jumps by fall are usually the ones who:
- Keep doing small daily work
- Stay consistent with timing drills
- Prioritize quality reps over random swings
Summer ball should DEVELOP athletes — not just showcase them.

Confidence during summer tournaments comes from preparation.
Not from one good game.
Not from batting average.
Not from social media clips.
Confidence comes from knowing:
“I’ve put in the work.”
That’s why reps matter so much during summer. Every cage session, every tee round, every timing drill is building something bigger than just mechanics.
It’s building trust in yourself when pressure shows up.

Hi everyone!
I wanted to give a quick update as I’ve received several messages about lessons. I’m still on maternity leave and am not currently teaching lessons full-time. At the moment, I am available for Zoom lessons and video analysis.
When I begin returning to lessons, I’ll first reach out to my current clients regarding availability. Any remaining openings will then be offered to athletes on my waitlist.
If you’d like to be notified when spots become available, you can join my waitlist here:

Thank you all for your patience and support during this season of life. I look forward to getting back in the cages soon! 🥎

Summer ball is a marathon — not a sprint.
There are going to be long weekends, tough games, heat, travel days, and moments where athletes feel exhausted physically and mentally.
The players who improve the MOST during summer aren’t always the ones playing the most games.
They’re the ones who:
- Stay intentional with their reps
- Learn from failure
- Compete even when tired
- Protect their confidence
- Stay coachable all summer long
Summer is where growth happens — but only if athletes stay focused on development, not just exposure.
