We teach the martial art of Hapkido, as a member school of the American Institute of Modern Hapkido Instruction (AIMHI).

Hapkido is the Korean martial art of coordinated power. As practitioners, we strive to balance our minds, bodies, and spirits in servant-leadership. This defensive art has a number of strengths, including throwing, joint locks, falling, and, of course, punching and kicking.

Tonight marks the end of an era for us at Coulter Hapkido Academy. After more than ten years of teaching martial arts in Peculiar, MO we are turning off our lights for good. It has been an amazing ride for us, and we are so thankful to all of our students, their families, and everyone else who has helped us along the way. You all have made CHA wildly successful and incredibly fulfilling for us. The school will continue under new ownership and with a new name, Hunter Hapkido Academy. We are excited to see how amazing things get from here.

Belt promotion day at an always so fun. We had one young man earn his Recommended 1st Degree black belt, and a whole slew of others get promoted as well. There are still more promotions coming too! Congratulations everyone!!

Mr. Hunter and the gang had another busy night last night for the 5 and 6 PM classes. Those classes might be packed, but we always have plenty of room at the 7 PM class as well as the Thursday evening classes at 6 PM and 7 PM. Come on out and join us.

The 7 PM class on Monday night is for students age 14 and up and all students brown belt and up. The class size is usually small like this. It’s a great time to come and train with us.

One of the greatest things we get to do in martial arts is watch people of all ages come in and try new things. They come to us excited and a little scared and we get to pout into them and watch them grow in confidence and competence. They encounter new challenges and learn to overcome them.
