TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE....

We created this **private site** with the intention of offering a reliable place for residents to receive accurate information and, hopefully, to reduce the spread of incorrect or confusing posts on other pages. While that objective remains important to us, we have found that it has been challenging to fully achieve.

In addition, we have received requests from owners wishing to join the site anonymously or under names that do not reflect their true identity, including, in one instance, the name of a person who has been deceased for some time. To ensure respectful and transparent communication, it is important that participation on this site clearly reflects who is speaking. For this reason, accounts using inaccurate or inappropriate identities have been removed... which created more problems because they are claiming that as owners they have the rights to...

Therefore, as the primary purpose of this platform is to **inform**, and in order to better manage communication in a positive and constructive way, we are currently reflecting on the possibility of evolving this site into a more **professional information-only platform**.

Should this approach be adopted:

* Comments would be disabled
* The site would be used exclusively for official communications from the administration
* Information shared would include community updates, activities, entertainment, and important notices

Our goal remains to provide clear, accurate, and timely information while fostering a respectful environment for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue working to improve communication within our community.

**IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION**

A misleading statement was posted this morning on the *Friends & Neighbors* page regarding alleged wasteful spending by this administration related to the elevators. That information was factually incorrect and damaging to the reputation of both the Board and its President.
For the sake of transparency and accuracy, the following clarifications are necessary so residents may fully understand the situation.

The facts are as follows:
* The violations were related to missing certifications and incomplete work dating back several years.
* The fines and violations were issued in January 2025, prior to the recent election and before the current administration took office.
* Ron and ESC attended a hearing on **April 22**, in an effort to have the fines dismissed.
* The President was informed of the violations ONLY AFTER the hearing board upheld the fines.
* Upon being made aware, the President acted immediately. Ed was assigned to manage the situation and successfully reduced the fines by demonstrating:
* a change in administration
* a breach of contract by the elevator company for failing to complete required work
* immediate corrective action taken by the current Board
* All elevators have since been fully repaired and properly certified.

It is also important to note that this administration inherited not only these violations, but also an ongoing lawsuit involving the former elevator company (ESC), stemming from a contract that was terminated in June 2024 due to justified concerns that was settled last June.

Ironically, the individual now accusing this Board and its President of financial mismanagement was a director during the period when these certification issues originated. Additionally, last year’s audited financial statements reflect a deficit of **$457,000**, which, combined with prior years, totals almost **$1.2 million**.

It is unfortunate that some individuals choose to publicly share inaccurate or incomplete information without first seeking clarification. While freedom of expression is a fundamental right, we respectfully ask that all residents exercise responsibility and fairness when posting publicly. Misinformation can harm reputations and undermine the trust that is essential within our community.

This Board remains committed to transparency, accountability, and open communication, and to acting in the best interest of all residents.
