Malik Brown became the first player in program history to return two kickoffs for touchdowns during Saturday's victory at Shorter.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – After playing a key role in helping the UNC Pembroke football team to a 31-24 victory at Shorter, Malik Brown has been named as the Conference Carolinas Special Teams Player of the Week presented by Athletic Solutions, league officials announced Monday afternoon.

PEMBROKE – Athletics department officials from The University of North Carolina Pembroke announced on Monday morning that soccer's Haley Sensenig and football's Malik Brown have been named the Scotland Health Care System Braves of the Week for the week ending on September 13, 2026.

Malik Brown housed kickoff return touchdowns of 88 and 91 yards, while Fredrick Sellars added a 69-yard interception return touchdown.

The Braves will be back in action Saturday, September 19 as they host No. 10 Valdosta State. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Grace P. Johnson Stadium, with the game being presented by CF Smith Property Group.

The Braves will be back in action Saturday, September 12 as they head to Rome, Ga. to open Conference Carolinas play at Shorter. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Barron Stadium.

FAYETTEVILLE - UNC Pembroke took a 7-0 lead into halftime, but couldn't muster any points in the second half as Fayetteville State took a 10-7 win over the Braves Saturday night in the Two Rivers Classic at Luther "Nick" Jeralds Stadium.
