"I love you no matter how you pitch in a game."

Pitchers want to feel accepted, supported and loved - by their teammates, coaches and of course parents.

They often time think this support, acceptance and love is based on their performance. While this one phrase might seem obvious to you as a parent, that "of course I love her no matter how she pitches in a game!" - it really can't be said enough.

Maybe she's heard you say "I love you no matter what", but be more specific and add the "no matter how you pitch in a game/practice" in there to clearly cut through to her.

A pitcher doesn't want to let you down. So many thoughts of fear and letting people down in moments when they're not performing well start to creep in during games.

Instead, if they can change those thoughts to "It's just a game, my parents love me, this is not the end of the world", these thoughts will help relax them, make their heart beat slow down and help them to feel more comfortable, thus likely feeling more confident and being able to turn things around in the game.

^ this is clearly directed more toward parents, family, relationships where you feel comfortable using that word.

Maybe for you you can change the word "love" to "support" or "believe" or "Here for you". Modification can absolutely be used!

Our "Back The Blue" tournament in Daphne tomorrow might have a rain delay but they are supposed to let us know the field status at 0530...stay tuned
